I watch YouTubers. That can’t really be a confession because who doesn’t watch YouTubers?! I drove two 7 year olds to a birthday party yesterday and listened to a conversation about Miranda Sings (BTW there aren’t enough ear plugs in the world for two 7 year olds imitating her… and I love me some Miranda Sings). Anyway, when I hear more than one or even five rave about something, and they’re ones I trust, I tend to run right out and buy it. Which is why I bought the new Wet N Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick ($4.99 // Wet n Wild).
The first two I bought (Nudie Patootie and Pink Really Hard) I was SO MAD over. If you follow me on Snapchat you lived through that rage with me because I shared my thoughts as well as lip swatches. They were the WORST. Especially Pink Really Hard. I went onto a Facebook group I’m in that is filled with Beauty Bloggers to ask if anyone else had the same experience and quite a few told me that had with the lighter shades, agreeing that Pink Really Hard was the worst of them all. They recommended a few and I decided I needed to find and buy them ALL to rank them in order of best to worst – so that you don’t make the same purchasing mistakes I do.
Below are all 13 of the Wet N Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick shades currently available – ranked in order from best to worst (the first five shades are technically tied for first so I put them in number order).
Rebel Rose (924B). It’s a beautiful color but the application was completely on point. One swipe and it was easy to spread out evenly. My favorite of them ALL!
Give Me Mocha (925B). Just as good as Rebel Rose in every capacity. I love the color but more importantly application was easy, even and opaque.
Berry Recognize (926B). Fantastic pigment, even application and perfectly opaque in one swipe.
Nice to Fuchsia (927B). See the above three descriptions. One swipe and perfection.
Goth Topic (932B). This blackened purple shade blew me away. It applied completely opaque and completely even. I didn’t expect to absolutely love such a dark shade, but it was lovely.
Missy and Fierce (930B). A gorgeous deep red that applied almost as well as Rebel Rose. For me, reds tend to be the hardest to find a good liquid lip color in because they just don’t seem to last. For the most part this one does but it does noticeable disappear at the center of the mouth as you eat and drink.
Oh My Dolly (928B). After two coats it still wasn’t completely opaque but wasn’t too bad. I added a bit more product on the bottom lip on my third coat and it was fine.
Video Vixen (931B). It applied almost completely opaque but on the outer edges/lip line it was a shade or two lighter than the color it was directly on the lips. I always go a bit slightly over my lip line with all liquid lips and this is the first time that’s ever happened. It can be fixed with a lip liner or (obviously) keeping it on the lips alone. (PS I get WHY it would look different, since your lip pigment is different than your skin pigment, it’s just never happened before with other lip colors).
Nudist Peach (921B). Application was uneven and I had to work for awhile to get it to look presentable, though I still wouldn’t go out in public with it on. The color is gorgeous, though!
Coral Corruption (922B). Tied with Nudist Peach but I put it lower because it had more color transfer when I ate/drank. Same type of application… uneven, streaky and it took awhile to get it presentable. Again, gorgeous color. Why are all of these beautiful, wearable shades such a PITA?!
Nudie Patootie (920B). Application wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t terrible. It wasn’t completely opaque in one coat but it was buildable. The color was atrocious on me… before it dried it was the exact same shade as my skin tone, when it dried it was a hair darker. Corpse bride.
Flame of the Game (929B). While the color is stunning the formula was odd. It applied evenly on the first pass but wasn’t opaque. I waited for it to dry completely and added a second coat which applied unevenly and also not opaque. Each coat kept getting worse.
Pink Really Hard (923B). The WORST. It applied streaky and patchy…. there was absolutely no hope for this shade.
Overall, I didn’t find them to be terribly uncomfortable, and I love the applicator. They are a little drying to wear, particularly so after you eat but that’s the case with most matte liquid lip colors. In that respect they’re not the worst I’ve tried. As the day goes on they do crumble a bit in the center but most have no color transfer to ANYTHING and they’re really hard to fully remove.
The first five shades (Rebel Rose, Give Me Mocha, Berry Recognize, Nice to Fuchsia and Goth Topic) are must haves for me. Missy and Fierce and Oh My Dolly are maybe shades while the others are a hard pass. For the price point, you absolutely can’t beat the good ones!

I love the Catsuit lip colors. They are the only lip colors I wear. (Almost. Occasionally I try another lip color. But I always come back to my beloved Liquid Catsuit.)
This is how I like to wear the Liquid Catsuit lip colors:
1. Moisturize lips.
2. Apply Wet n Wild gel lip liner over the entire lips.
3. Apply Liquid Catsuit lip color.
P.S. My favorite Liquid Catsuit lip colors? Goth Topic & Missy and Fierce.
