There’s been a revamp! Urban Decay has released (and in some cases, re-released) a new line up of Primers and Setting Sprays. Below I talk about five of them and let you know who I’d personally recommend them for as well as share my faves and how I’m applying them at the bottom!

Urban Decay Urban Defense Complexion Primer ($34.00 // Sephora). A clear sunscreen (broad spectrum 30) and primer. This is a hydrating, gel formula that uses conditioning ingredients which primes and smooths the skin while protecting it from the sun and minimizing the appearance of pores. Normal to Dry Skin.

Urban Decay De-Slick Complexion Primer ($34.00 // Sephora). Remember De-Slick in a tube? It’s back & better! Control shine, minimize the appearance of pores and improve makeup application with this oil-free, paraben-free formula. Since it dries invisibly you can also press it on top of your makeup if you require a mid-day touchup. Oily Skin.

Urban Decay B6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Priming Spray ($31.00 // Sephora). A soothing spray to prep the skin to “first stabilized form of vitamin B6, which absorbs oil, minimizes pores, and reduces redness”. Normal Skin (I’m oily and like it as a bare skin refresher, but the De-Slick Primer works better without this and the spray doesn’t help me to control shine and oily on it’s own).

Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray ($31.00 // Sephora). A weightless setting spray that helps keep makeup in place while controlling oil and shine. My fave was the All Nighter before I tried this out and while it didn’t keep oil gone allllll day long it lasted longer for me than All Nighter did (which is pretty impressive). Oily Skin.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($31.00 // Sephora). A light mist that “keeps makeup in place for up to 16 hours”. I used to use this before I go ahold of De-Slick and it worked well on my oily skin for about 8 hours. Normal to Dry Skin.

How to Wear: Personally, since my skin is an oil slick, my faves are the De-Slick Primer and De-Slick Setting Spray. For the primer I put on a light moisturizer (allow it to mostly sink in, but not sit too long on your face drying) then put a bit of the primer on my fingertips. To apply I dab it on my oiliest areas (t-zone) and all over my forehead. I spread it around with a pressing motion. Allow that to sit a minute and go in with your makeup routine.
When you’re all done with makeup apply the setting spray and allow it to fully dry before moving any part of your face. It does dry quickly, but you don’t want to create makeup lines all over your flawlessness. 😉
