Of course for Valentine’s Day you’re going to want those kiss-proof lips. Those lips that are going to stay on through eating, drinking and alllllll the smooching. For Valentine’s Day (and beyond), you need to pick up a few of the new L’Oreal Infallible Paints Lipcolors ($9.99 // ULTA Beauty). Keep reading to find out if they’re perfect for date night!
The L’Oreal Infallible Paints Lipcolors are described as a “high impact liquid color”. 14 shades are available now at ULTA Beauty and range from “nude” to bold. I was sent 5 of the bolder shades in 300 Lilac Lust, 304 Bewitching Bordeaux, 308 Navy Spy, 310 Taupeless and 318 Fearless Fuchsia.
Review: The shades I received were all pigmented in one swipe but obviously you need to spread that swipe around to cover your lips. After spreading out the swipe the center of my lips needed a bit more and round two covered my lips completely. I love the doe-foot applicator (always my fave) because it doesn’t over-apply color and you can use the tip of it to be precise at the lip line.
Once they’re on your lips they remain semi-glossy and I personally didn’t find the formula to be drying.
Wear Time: While there are no claims on the paperwork about it being long-lasting you know I had to give it a go! I applied Taupeless and about 10 minutes later had my lunch. The color didn’t budge.
If you follow me on Snapchat you saw me wear testing the shade 310 Taupeless. Now, I assumed this wouldn’t be flattering on me, but I shared a few pics and ended up adding a pink colored gloss on top (because I had to pick up my kid lmao) and the combo was awesome! I will say that when you add the gloss on top the color isn’t as budge-proof but the effect was gorgeous.
It’s important to note that while the color stays on your lips for awhile the color itself is not transfer resistant. Smooches leave their mark, but that’ll probably be a good thing đŸ˜‰
Pro Tip: L’Oreal Paris Celebrity Makeup Artist Sir John says his favorite look is to “take two similar shades and apply one to the top lip and one to the bottom lip (such as a light pink and a magenta) then smack your lips together for the coolest PB&J-effect lips”.
