One of my favorite, neutral palettes from 2016 is the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette ($54.00 // Sephora). I posted my original review back in August, but for this post I’ll be sharing one of my favorite eye looks to do with the shades – perfect for day but also the perfect eye look for New Years Eve! At the bottom of the post be sure to check out more looks from the other bloggers in my Makeup Wars group!

For this look I’m using the shades Commando, Tempted, Lethal and Blow.

Step 1: Always start with a base. For this look I used Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Step 2: Using a blending brush (I used the MAC 217), apply the transition shade, Commando, to the crease and blend out well.
Step 3: Apply Tempted all over the lid with a flat brush such as the MAC 239.
Step 4: Pick up a dark brown eyeliner and apply to the top lash line. I used Urban Decay Muse 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, which isn’t available anymore, but many will work such as Boubon, Whiskey, Corrupt… basically anything dark brown.
Step 5: Using a smudger brush like the MAC 219 press and smudge Lethal to the outer V area of the eye. Smudge well and add more color as needed. For this look I applied two coats of the shade. I also used this brush and shade to smudge Lethal under 2/3 of the lower lash line.
Step 6: With a small detail brush like the MAC 283 apply Blow to the inner corners of the eye. I also placed this shade under the brow bone.
Step 7: Finish up the look by picking up the same blending brush from Step 1 and a bit more of Commando to blend the crease color into the brow bone color.
Step 8: Line the bottom waterline with the same pencil you used in Step 4. Smudge that out a a bit using the products from Step 3.
Step 9: Apply mascara! For this look I used IT Cosmetics Superhero.

The final look ends up being soft but still a bit edgy. It’s perfect for day and night – it would be a fabulous look for New Years Eve, particularly if you have to go from work to play!
