My skin is so incredibly oily. BUT… my under eye area tends toward being dry. When your undereye area is dry and you wear concealer it can collect in patches which are impossible to hide and a PITA to get rid of if you’ve already done your foundation (which I usually already have). Never mind all of the creasing!
So how do you apply and layer concealer to a dry undereye area, without creasing?

First I make sure to use a light eye cream such as First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Eye Cream ($32.00 // Sephora). I let that set in for a few minutes before going to the next step.
Next I put on a brightening product to help with the dark under eye circles. My current fave is the First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Beauty ($36.00 // Sephora), but the Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand ($45.00 // Nordstrom) is nice if you want steps one and two in one place and your dark circles aren’t looking as dangerous. Again, let that settle for a few minutes after you apply.
Now it’s finally time for concealer. For me, 9 times out of 10, the concealer is always applied to the eye with the wand and then blended in with a beautyblender ($20.00 // Sephora). Working on one eye at a time I apply the concealer quite generously and make sure it’s completely blended in with the slightly damp beautyblender. Then I bake under that eye with a settle powder to make sure it all stays and doesn’t crease. Make sure you’re applying concealer to only ONE under eye, blend and bake. Then go to the next eye.
With that, your concealer will hang out all day… hiding all the bad things under those eyes! These are a few of my favorites that I’ve found work very well for me:
tarte Shape Tape ($24.00 // ULTA Beauty). I finally got my hands on this!! It covers under eye circles so well and stays put foreverrrr using the method above. I didn’t feel like it covered blemishes well so I’m still using the Urban Decay for that.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer ($28.00 // Sephora). Sign this one up as my most repurchased. It’s good at covering under the eyes as well as blemishes.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($29.00 // Sephora). Works just like the Urban Decay in my book, definitely an amazing product!
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer ($24.00 // Sephora). Full, MAJOR coverage on your under eye area. I like to use a buffing concealer type brush to blend this one out before I bake. Generally I use the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush because it works the best with this product.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer ($27.00 // Sephora). Yet another perfect for covering under the eye. Bake this in QUICK so it doesn’t settle into any lines.
Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme ($26.00 // Sephora). A pigmented formula that blends out easily, covering very well. For this one I also like to use a brush before I bake and I’d recommend the Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush.
Drugstore Fix. If you need good drugstore options my current faves are the Maybelline Face Studio Master Conceal ($6.79 // Target) (which is a complete dupe for the MUFE) and Pixi Correction Concentrate ($12.00 // Target).
