I grew up in the 90’s. If you ask any of us from that era who the biggest diva pop star of all-time is we’re all going to immediately say Mariah Carey. She hit the scene in 1990 with her debut album and has been a sensation ever since. Because of this, I think it should go without saying that the Holiday collaboration MAC x Mariah Carey is beautiful, golden, blingy and bright. As it should be.
I was lucky enough to receive one product from this collection early so I hope that seeing it here will help with your purchasing come next week when this collection will launch online.
You’ve Got Me Feeling Powder Blush ($24.00 // Nordstrom). You’ve Got Me Feeling is one of two powder blushes released within this collection and it’s described as a light candy pink. The back doesn’t say what the finish is but if I had to venture a guess I would say it’s a Satin finish (which is my favorite from MAC).
I thought this blush to be really intimidating when I first looked at it. I’m not so into the bold type of pinks, though the right ones tend to brighten my face up and make me look healthier/more awake. Which is exactly what this one did. I used a very soft brush and a light hand to apply the powder to my cheeks and was pleasantly surprised with the result. My tan is definitely fading so I consider myself on the fair side and this shade was perfect when used lightly. Wear time was all day (for me) which is around 8 hours.
The swatch below is done dry on bare skin (no primers):
As for my wishlist? It’d probably be easier and a lot less time consuming to tell you what I don’t want from this collection… but I need a shopping list anyway so here it goes: MCizzle Lipstick, Dreamlover Lipglass, My Mimi Extra Dimension Skinfinish, It’s Everything Eyeshadow x 4, I’m That Chick You Like Eyeshadow x 4, 183 Buffer Brush and probably 2 of the 239 Brush because it’s one of my faves and the LE packaging is TDF.
