Why is it that when the clocks turn back I become so much more exhausted? I mean… I’m gaining an hour of sleep, right?! Basically I’m doing everything I can to keep it together and stay awake lately. Some things are helping me by giving me more energy and some things are definitely not.

Walking. Even when I’m the most tired, saddest sack around I force myself to take a walk and get some exercise. Or rather… my friend Lauren forces me. No isn’t an answer and it’s awesome because I never regret going. When I get home I have more energy and more of my to-do list gets done.
Don’t Nap. Some people need to nap. Others, like me, find that even a 15 minute cat-nap can ruin them for the entire day. The same goes for if I sleep in past 8am. I’m definitely not an early to bed/early to rise type of person so I make sure I’m getting in 7 hours a night (give or take a few minutes). This seems to be my “sleep happy place”. Find yours.
Eat. Does breakfast in the morning make you gag? Me too. I usually only want coffee and my computer. Even if you grab something small and quick – protein bar, fruit… even a glass of orange juice… it’ll be enough to get you revving.

Coffee. But in moderation. If I drink too much caffeine, even early on, it can cause me to have a more restless sleep.
Organize. Am I the only person out there that finds more energy when my house is cleaned up and I keep nothing but essentials on my desk? I’ve been finding that if I have to clear out space or clean something before I tackle my day I’m less likely to actually do anything. Keeping organized all of the time helps tremendously.
Vitamins. Focusing on giving my body the B6 and B12 energy vitamins helps quite a bit. These vitamins help the body efficiently use energy by playing an essential role when carbohydrates are converted into glucose (which is needed to stay alert).
Ricola Herbal Immunity Lozenges include both of these vitamins as well as a powerful blend of herbs, ginseng and vitamin C to boost immunity strength and fight fatigue. Two flavors are available in Honey Herb and Citrus Herb. Pick them up now at CVS, Walgreens and Rite-Aid stores nationwide.

How do you stay energized throughout the day?
