This past Friday my family was invited to Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, PA for their annual Halloween Happenings event. The event is obviously completely over but I still wanted to share what it was like with you in case you’re curious to go next year or are thinking about attending an event there in the future during the Holidays, Spring or Summer.
Halloween Happenings ran from 4pm-8pm (though they were open until 10pm) and beforehand we were invited to a blogger event. The blogger event was just a casual sit down to get all the info on what Phipps Conservatory has to offer year round as well as have some fun things for the kids to do. One of which was learning about bees, closely checking out their hive and drawing a picture to commemorate the activity.
After that the bloggers and their families were invited to join in on the actual Halloween Happenings Event. Now, I’ve never been to Phipps Conservatory before (that’s basically a sin because I’ve lived in Pittsburgh for 28 years!) but I have to say it was so much fun and the activities were perfect.
There was a fantastic magician there and both of my kids were lucky enough to be chosen as helpers for the first trick. The magician made balls appear in their hands and I think it’s safe to say by the look on my sons face it was amazing.
The kids also got to guess the eyeballs, make masks and play ring toss.
But I think their most favorite activity was getting their faces painted. I don’t know… what do you think 😉
As we visited all of the activities we also got to check out each room of the Fall Flower Show. With Fall being my favorite time of the year I was in love with the displays and color scheme.
….and yes… that’s totally Mr. Rogers Neighborhood featured in Garden Railroad: 200 Years of Pittsburgh.
Halloween Happenings made me want to explore all of the other events going on at Phipps Conservatory, in particular the holiday festivities! Have you ever been to Phipps Conservatory or any place similar? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
