I absolutely cannot stop talking about this beautiful weather we’re having. Heat may be for you, but crisp hoodie weather is for me! As we transition into another season changes need to happen in makeup. Cooler weather can bring about drier, more lackluster skin so it’s important to use something that will amp up the look of your face makeup. My biggest problem is that I need full coverage on my skin… so how can I get the best of both worlds – full coverage and matte, yet glowing? By pretending I’m a mixologist. Here’s how I’m using the Estée Edit Skin Glowing Balm Makeup with Pink Peony($36.00 // Sephora).
Estée Edit Skin Glowing Balm Makeup with Pink Peony is described as a “nearly bare tinted moisturizer that enhances (without covering up) your natural skin”. The ultra-hydrating formula has ingredients like shea butter, evening primrose oil, and muru muru seed butter to give your skin a moisturized, dewy glow while pink peony extra soothes the skin. This balm is ideal for normal-to-dry skin types which clearly doesn’t include me – but I made it work.
My skin is oily, sensitive and in need of full-coverage. Due to life, my skin is also pretty dull. To use the Estée Edit Skin Glowing Balm Makeup I added a drop into my normal foundation and mixed it on the back of my hand, then applied with the beautyblender. Doing this seemed to work out better for me than applying the balm to my face and then going in with my foundation on top. I did find that I needed to touch up my powder once or twice (depending on activity) throughout the day but the balm worked how I wanted it to, which was to provide a bit more of a glow to my complexion. Lately I’ve felt like I’ve been “too matte” and this balm was the slight tweak I needed to fix that.
Below all 12 shades are swatched and I matched up best with 210 Chamois (I’m about NC/NW25 in MAC, depending on the formula – and I run neutral).
