Because WTF would Holiday 2016 be without a little glow? We’ve been glowing all year with the major surge of highlighting that’s happening, so it’s perfect timing for the release of the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Trio Shimmering Powder for Face and Body ($36.00 // Sephora) which features three NEW shades in a limited edition set.
Inside this set you’ll get not only the powders in Pyrite // gold-champagne, Oasis // marbled frosted taupe and Twilight // iridescent pink, but also a nice sized mirror and a double-ended brush.
Within these three new shades you’re still getting the coveted microfine Naked Shimmer that contain light-reflecting particles providing your skin with a finished, luminous look. It doesn’t have to just highlight your face, the powders are perfect for everywhere because it just gives a slight shimmer vs a garish metallic look. If you spritz a bit of the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray on the brush before you apply it’ll make the sparkle a bit more intense and you can also add it into lotions and oils for an all-over body glow.
I think this trio is fabulous because you’re getting three shades that will work from head-to-toe. Pyrite was the most pigmented for a nice, bronzed glow while Twilight gave off a noticeable, understated bit of color. Oasis was the only shade of the three that seemed to be hard to pick up any sort of pigment and it did feel a bit dry. For the most part these highlighters are going to give you more of a shimmery glow vs a metallic one.
In the look below I’m wearing Twilight at the top of my cheek bones to highlight. The rest of the look breakdown can be found here.
What is your favorite highlighter for the holidays?
The Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Trio Shimmering Powder for Face and Body retails for $36.00 and is available in-store and online at Sephora, ULTA Beauty, select Macy’s stores and urbandecay.com. This product is limited edition.

This palette is all I want for Christmas :)) Dream for highlighter junkie
I don’t know if I need that much shimmer, but I do love the look of the shades and palette.

I think these are beautiful but I also think they came out with it a little late. Everyone has beautiful shimmer palettes so that money is spent out of my budget. It’s beautiful though if you don’t have a collection already.

I can’t decide if I want this or not. Part of me wants it just because it’s UD, haha, and part of me thinks it’s too shimmery. I think I need to go swatch it in person and decide from there!

I think if you’re into a big more of a shimmer highlight on your face and bod (for the holidays or any other time) go for it – but if you tend to gravitate more towards the usual highlight or something a bit more subtle then skip.
These are GORGEOUS!
Too sparkly for me!
