If you loved the original PÜR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie palette saddle up your shopping fingers, because you’re going to be obnoxiously obsessed with PÜR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 ($42.00 // ULTA Beauty).
How is the second version better than the first? Better mascara for sure, exclusive and never-before-seen shades all at a value of $140!
The packaging is squared and white with silver lettering and glitter. It’s a bit hefty but the mirror is full-sized for the palette and the combination of shades and products make it so the palette is incredibly travel-friendly … mostly because it’s got nearly everything you need (makeup wise) for an entire trip.
The products in this palette are // Shadow shades (0.04 oz each): Headshot (vanilla), Statuesque (light cocoa), Panorama (mahogany w/ gold fleck), Abstract (milk chocolate pearl), Pose (powder pink), Sketch (rust), Megapixel (pure gold) and Paparazzi(olive green shimmer); Fully Charged Mascara (true black // 0.17 oz), Lip Gloss in Silhouette (dark rose // 0.14 oz), Lip Pencil in Focal Point (rosy nude // 0.07 oz), Overexposed Baking Powder (neutral translucent powder // 0.08 oz), Photogenic Blush (rose gold illuminator) and Composition Blush (neutral bronzer // 0.08 oz).
I love this palette. I think the eye shadow shades are perfect mix of cool and warm tones and should suit more skin tones than a lot of other palettes out there which tend to focus on just warm or just cool. Every single shadow was beautiful and easy to wear with nice pigment. When using them I did notice they kick up some powder when you put your brush in, but when you apply you won’t experience any fall-out onto your cheeks.
You guys already know that I love the Fully Charged Mascara so I’m happy to see a mini version in Selfie 2. The Focal Point Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Silhouette Lip Gloss are saturated berry shades in that “universal tone” – perfect for Fall. The Lip Pencil is a bit dry on it’s own. It was okay for lining but skipped a bit and I could do with it being a bit creamier. The Lip Gloss applied easily due to the formula and applicator but didn’t feel sticky or goopy during application or wear. On the plus side I ate lunch and my lip color didn’t budge other than the gloss going away, so I attribute the staying power to the Lip Pencil.
My only major gripe is that the blush shade, Photogenic, is more of a highlighter to me. For the look below I bronzed up more of my cheek area than normal with Composition and placed Photogenic half on top of that and half above then dusted a bit of Overexposed at the top of that. I really loved the finished look but Photogenic on it’s own is likely only going to be a “blush” for the very fair.
The swatches below are done dry and on bare skin (no primer):
If you need some help figuring out how to wear the shades peek inside the box where you’ll find a card which contains two looks – one for day time and one for night time:
In the look below (FACE) I started off using Benefit The POREfessional Matte Rescue all over my face and then on top I put the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Mattifying Primer in my oily t-zone area. For my foundation I’ve been loving the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in shade 238. I put the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in 310 on top for more coverage. To set this I used the Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder by baking my under eye and t-zone areas. For bronzing and cheeks I used the PÜR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 products in Composition, Photogenic and Overexposed. (EYES) To prime I used Benefit Air Patrol followed by MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Utterly Becoming (to sub use MAC Painterly) – yes, I doubled up because SUMMER. For eyeshadow, from the PÜR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 palette, I used Statuesque as a transition shade, Abstract on the lid & under the lower lash line, Paparazzi in the crease (blended up), Headshot at the inner corners and Pose to highlight under the brow and blend out the crease color. For liner I used Chanel Feuilles Stylo Yeux Waterproof and the mascara is PÜR Cosmetics Fully Charged. (LIPS) From the PÜR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 palette I lined my lips & filled in with the Focal Point Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and applied Silhouette Lip Gloss over-top.
