Doesn’t it seem like those of us that don’t want body hair always have the most of it? Or maybe we just notice it more…. Regardless, it sucks. As you’re probably aware I’ve been on the mission to “de-hair” for years now. I’ve done my legs and arms using at-home laser treatments with much success, but one area I had never tackled was my face.
If we’re being honest here I was scared as heck to do an at-home laser treatment on my face. Mostly because if I mess it up it’s my fault… and who wants that pressure? PLUS the at-home hair removers that I have here are kind of bulky to be maneuvering around my face. When the Silk’n Flash&Go Express ($299.00) arrived I immediately thought “This will be perfect to use on my face!”. It’s small and easy to hold which makes it a snap to maneuver. Plus the laser area is a long rectangle which means doing my face will take about 30 seconds.
Generally, for my face, I use mostly depilatory creams as well as a razor (sometimes, if I’m in a hurry). While my face doesn’t have “man status” hair there are baby hairs around my cheek area that, IMO, make my face look dirty. PLUS, when you get older, you can get a few coarse hairs popping up on your chin. I assumed that was because of my heritage, but my husbands blonde-haired blue-eyed cousin got a few starting in her early 20’s. Anyway, I want to get rid of these hairs before they’re devoid of pigment and can’t be laser treated at all. ALSO when my face is cleared of all of those little hairs it’s got a more luxurious feel to it and makeup applies better to the smoother surface.
When I opened up the box for the Silk’n Flash&Go Express I was immediately happy to see that it came with it’s own carrying case. It’s the little things, you guys. This device is small enough for traveling with and the case is solid which will keep everything safe in transit. The device is ready to go as soon as you open it. Once your face is clean, bare and dry you can have at it. Make sure you do not look directly at the flash as it emits from the laser. I stand in front of the mirror, place the device, close my eyes and zap. Because the laser part covers such a long area and is the perfect shape for where I’m treating this whole process takes me 30 seconds to do my cheek area, upper lip and chin. The device is perfect for sensitive skin and can be used anywhere on the body from the cheekbones down.
The Silk’n Flash&Go Express has a beautiful technology that is convenient and painless as well as SAFE & FDA CLEARED. I started on setting 1, just in case, but I’ll definitely be able to up it to a 2 the next time. Major bonus, since it plugs in to the wall, you don’t have to buy refill cartridges or worry about charging it up. Cordless is nice, but I’ve definitely had my limit of doing half of an area and needing to recharge or switch out a cartridge that I may or may not have on hand. It’s got 300,000 pulses and is designed for a lifetime of use.
I’m really excited to see the end results over the next few months and never have to worry about taking the time to mess with creams or shaving again!

Rogue chin hairs are the worst. I used to make fun of my mom plucking hers, until I found two of my own. This sounds like a really great device.
If you survive this, you’ll survive in-clinic IPLs. Beauty pain baby!

I’m a very hair beast and this looks like a tool I need. It’s frustrating to feel my skin and feel coarse hairs that have popped to the surface.

This really sounds like it is effective for those rogue facial hairs that periodically pop up uninvited!
It have stray dark hairs on my chin that I tweeze since my epilator doesn’t work well on my chin, and I have blonde hairs above my lip corners that I epilate or tweeze. I’d love to zap them with something like this. Dying to hear about your longer term results!

Oh, I NEED this! Facial hair is definitely an issue for me sometimes, and I attribute that mostly to my Italian heritage. 😉 Definitely going to check this out.
I loathe shaving so this is something I would LOVE to get! I’m excited to check it out next time I’m at the store
