It’s not every day that I think about going natural with anything. Natural no makeup? No one needs to see that. Natural hair? I’ll spare you. But once in awhile I’ll see a post go up somewhere on social media and decide I need to make a change… a natural product change that’s better for me and my body. As a starting point I’ve been using Tom’s of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant because it’s been the best-selling natural deodorant for decades.
My biggest concern in making the switch to Tom’s of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant was, obviously, odor protection. Odor trumps even staying dry for me because anyone can change their shirt and look dry. If you become Stinky Sally there’s no going back from that – new shirt or otherwise. I’m outside a lot in the Summer… I have two kids very active in their sports and between tournaments and practices sweat is expected almost immediately based off of the humidity alone.
Tom’s of Maine boasts clinically proven 24hr odor protection using odor-fighting hops, the mineral zinc and only natural fragrances.
The new formula is paired with new and improved scents, and is free of aluminum, artificial fragrances and petrochemicals. Each persons body chemistry is unique and it’s important to note that if you’re used to using chemicals and artificial ingredients in your products your body will need time to adjust to a natural formula. Tom’s of Maine recommends trying the new deodorant for 3-7 days to give your body the time it needs to adjust so that you can better determine if this product will be right for you.
Another major selling point for me is that with every purchase Tom’s of Maine gives 10% of profits back to helping people and the planet. They also say no to animal testing and do not use animal ingredients. Their packaging is recyclable through local municipalities or the TerraCycle Tom’s of Maine Natural Care Brigade. In addition to deodorant Tom’s of Maine is also the leading natural personal care brand that makes high quality natural toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, deodorant, bar soap and baby care products.
In using a more natural deodorant it becomes the stepping stone to using more natural products and also showing my children how important it is to take care of their bodies and skin.
