How is it even possible to take a product that is the best and make it better? The IT Cosmetics You Sculpted Contouring Palette ($40.00 // ULTA Beauty) is the latest and, IMO, the greatest face & body contouring palette I’ve seen yet…. even more so than last years model from the same brand!
The original contour palette from IT Cosmetics was called “My Sculpted Face” (photos here) and it was one of my Top 10 Luxury Highlight & Contour products last year. This years model has a similar but more wearable shade selection of six highlighting and contouring powders.
IT Cosmetics develops their products with plastic surgeons and formulates each powder shade with proprietary Perfect Lighting™ Technology to mimic real facial contouring and provide a foolproof alternative to fillers. The four contour shades are meant to adsorb light and minimize the areas that you apply them to while the two highlighters enhance the features that you’d like to stand out, creating more volume.
Each shade is infused with anti-aging collagen, silk and peptides so that they are easy to blend and last all day long. The powders are listed as “talc-free” and “perfect for all skin types and tones”.
The powders are mattes and satin finishes, with compliments to both warm and cool skin tones. Like with the previous version the powders are soft, pigmented and easy to blend. When I wore this palette the contour and highlight lasted all day long, even in sweaty conditions.
Included in the purchase of this palette is a how-to guide to make your sculpting, contouring, highlighting life that much easier.
The swatches below are done dry and on bare skin (no primers):
With the launch of this palette also came a brand new brush…. and you guys know the love I feel for IT Cosmetics brushes. The Heavenly Luxe™ You Sculpted!™ #18 Contour & Highlight Brush ($34.50 // itcosmetics.com) is a flat topped brush that is perfect for getting a chisled, straight contouring line. What’s interesting about this one, though, is that it’s also very soft and pliable. The result is a more “natural” chisled look that’s easy to blend out. The width and shape of this brush also makes it easy to get the perfect application of highlighter, though I do recommend using a second one and not the same one you used to contour with.
