When MAC launched their Pro Longwear line of Paint Pots I was thrilled. The original Paint Pots always creased on my super oily lids and a test of the Pro Longwear Paint Pots proved that they stood up to that challenge. Now MAC has made using the Pro Longwear formula that much easier with the release of the MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks ($22.00 // Nordstrom).
The MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks are available in 21 shades and 2 textures – matte and frost. Of the 21 shades I have 4 to show you today in Flat White (white, matte), Creme-Filled (soft champagne w/ gold pearl, frost), Bleached Out Beige (dirty metallic w/ gold pearl, frost) and Tea Leaves (midtone dirty mauve, frost).
These are packaged in a twist up tube and the stick itself is retractable, though I recommend not twisting it up too far since these feel soft.
The formula is really creamy making it easy to apply to the eyelids quickly. It doesn’t dry overly fast so you have time to pat it in and blend with your finger. If you want more pigment from them you can layer it up or apply with a firm, paddle-type brush. They recommend the MAC 242 but I’ve used the 239 also.
These Colour Sticks kept my eye look on all day without creasing while remaining vivid and flawless. There is nothing negative to say about these four shades and they’re up there in my top 10 products you need from MAC.
Note: on the Nordstrom website it’s showing that these have a sharpener on the end. I’ve tried to get the end of mine off and on three the end wouldn’t remove and on the other I broke off the colored tip (and saw no sharpener). I’ve searched and looked at a few other reviews and haven’t seen a sharpener mentioned. Does anyone know if they’re supposed to have them?
Basically these are just as addicting for me as the Pro Longwear Paint Pots are and yes I need them all. They’re marked as limited edition which is devastating for me. Keep them around, MAC!
