Have you ever bought a makeup product and when you open it think… “I should’ve bought ALL of these”. I had that moment recently when I purchased the Viseart Minx Theory Palette ($45.00// Sephora) from the Sephora VIB sale.
If you follow me on Snapchat you knew this glowing post was coming because you saw the swatches weeks ago. I basically swatched it and freaked out that I didn’t buy every single thing that Viseart makes. Of course at that point the sale was over and I had the sads.
The packaging is plain – a dark brown with white writing and made of cardboard material. It’s simple, yet chic and not chinsy feeling. I like how secure the palette is in the outer case that you slide it out of (it’s in there tight) and you use a little folded ribbon material to open it up, revealing the pretty.
Minx contains six warm toned shades of three matte colors (deep brown, medium brown, peachy beige) and three metallic colors (bright gold, copper and burgundy). The burgundy shade is what initially drew me in to this palette. I’m forever on the hunt for the perfect one and this one is darn close to what I have in my head as perfect.
Even with just six shades I feel like the looks you can create with this are many. All swatched like butter, complete heaven. Very little fallout (just a bit with the darkest brown) and they wore like a dream. Dream… heaven… these words. If loving is wrong I don’t wanna be right bahaha oh man, I need help some days.
The swatches below are ONE PASS with my finger. No primer. Dry. Can you even?!
For the EOTD below I went for a more neutral look. First I laid down a base of Benefit Air Patrol and MAC Utterly Becoming Pro Longwear Paint Pot. With Minx I began by using the medium brown (very lightly) as a transition shade and then patted just a bit of the burgundy lightly all over the lid. The bright gold is at the inner corners and the dark brown is at the outer-V and blended well. I used the matte, peachy beige to blend out the transition color and highlight then took my finger and dabbed a bit of the copper shade at the center. Under the lower lash line I brushed on a mix of the burgundy and copper colors. The eye liner is Marc Jacobs Brown(Out) Highliner Gel Eye Crayon and the mascara is IT Cosmetics Superhero.
I went very light with application on all of the colors because I didn’t want the eye look to be overdone for daytime.

The cost isn’t too bad if you consider you’re getting 6 shades… particularly when there’s a Sephora sale! I’m obsessed I definitely need more!
