butter LONDON Sheer Wisdom Nail Tinted Moisturizer Swatches + Review

You’ve heard of and probably even used tinted moisturizer. For your face. But do you use it for your nails? Probably not. It’s likely you’ve never even heard of it. Before the info for the new butter LONDON Sheer Wisdom Nail Tinted Moisturizer ($18.00 // ULTA Beauty) released, I hadn’t either.

Even during the warmer months I suffer from nail hell. I’m a reformed nail biter (not going to lie, I still get at my right thumb nail sometimes) and there was a point in time where acrylics were life. They actually helped me to stop biting, but basically ruined my nails. I still have dents in my thumbs from them and the after-effect is dry, brittle, lined and peeling nails. Keeping my hands and cuticles moisturized helps a lot but it never fully makes a permanent difference.

The butter LONDON Sheer Wisdom Nail Tinted Moisturizer is available in six shades – Fair, Light, Neutral, Medium, Tan and Deep. Just like tinted moisturizer for your face you can find the shade that best matches your skin tone. This treatment will “give the appearance of healthy, natural looking nails while a revolutionary Micro Smart Active Technology delivers a controlled release of ingredients to lock in moisture and help repair nails over time”.

Basically, much like the tinted moisturizer we use on our faces, what this should do is “fix” nails – no more breaking, brittle nasty business…. and while it does that it’ll give nails a healthy appearance. Check out my before and after below:

In between swatching so many nail polishes I make it a point to wear the butter LONDON Sheer Wisdom Nail Tinted Moisturizer in Fair (swatched below). So far I’ve noticed less peeling on my nails and over a longer period of time I hope to see an even bigger difference.

I like wearing the Fair because it seems to really brighten up my nails, but I could absolutely use the Neutral and I imagine the Light. Unlike tinted moisturizer for the face there’s no limit to a certain shade – though some will look better on your nails than others.

Would you use tinted moisturizer on your nails?

The butter LONDON Sheer Wisdom Nail Tinted Moisturizer retails for $18.00 and is available at ULTA Beauty, Nordstrom and butterlondon.com. butter LONDON is “7 free” & does not add formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, or xylene to any of its nail formulas.

These sound really great! I don’t like to leave my nails bare but like a break between colours and this would be perfect.

I have some from other brands – but never reach for them! I like the concept though

Hmm Not sure if I’d care for them or not. But I can see why others would love them.

I think this is a really pretty look. I usually wear bold polish, but I think this is pretty!

Ooooh I am going to need to check these out! My nails get so dry and brittle in the winter and I like the idea of the neutral color.
