Every other week when we do Makeup Wars posts I’m excited. I love to see what the other bloggers favorite items are and this week is looking to be the baddest (in a good way) week of them all! This week it’s all about splurge vs. steal. YES. Those beauty items that can cost beaucoup buckeroos at the department store just may be available at your local drugstore! But who in the heck has the time or money to go through them ALL and figure out what matches up with what? Beauty bloggers, that’s who.

Today I have not one but TWO splurge vs. steal items for you. The first is the BH Cosmetics Nude Rose 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette($9.50 // BHcosmetics.com). What’s it look like? The Urban Decay Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette, of course! Well, not at first glance (because of the shaping of the eyeshadow pans and other things but I have reasons and that I’ll get into below). They both carry 12 eyeshadow shades with the BH palette housing a total net weight of 12g of product and the Urban Decay housing 6g – so you’re getting double with the BH. They both also include a double-ended makeup brush and the pretty rose gold packaging.

BH Cosmetics Nude Rose features eye shadows with three finishes (matte, satin and shimmer) and is nicely pigmented and easy to work with. The shades lasted all day on me when worn over primer. Definitely a good pick if you love the shades in Naked 3 but want to stay on budget. I also feel that the BH Nude Rose is more wearable overall to everyone. Naked3 is gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous but not it’s not going to suit all the people. A friend of mine went to ULTA with me last week with the intent to get Naked3 and I’m like… girl you’re a Naked2.. she’s just way too cool toned for Naked3. BUT. She could totally rock Nude Rose because it’s a little more understated. I’m probably rambling, but hopefully you guys get me 😉
Bottom line – if you found you can’t get Naked3 to work for you – you might be able to work with Nude Rose!

Urban Decay Naked 3 retails for $54.00 at stores like Sephora and Nordstrom whereas the BH Cosmetics palette retails for only $9.50. You have to pick this up online but the BH website does offer free shipping if you spend $50.00 (US Only).
Next up is one that surprised me, because I wasn’t even thinking dupe status when I tried out the new L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. Ange from Hairspray and High Heels did an awesome post on the best drugstore foundations and the L’Oreal came out on top. Knowing that and then seeing the Buy 1 Get 1 Half Off sale recently at ULTA I had to pick it up.

What does L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation($12.99 // ULTA Beauty) remind me of? The new NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint! The NARS foundation retails for $44.00 at places like Sephora and Nordstrom so the L’Oreal is a whopping $31.00 less – and they do & feel like the exact same thing. With the L’Oreal it might be hard to find your shade match.. I thought I’d be lighter, and when I swatched it at home I about died with how dark it showed up on my arm… but it matched perfectly on my face (I checked SO MUCH lol). In the NARS I wear Groenland and in the L’Oreal I matched to 103 – hopefully that will help you out some!

Last week I also talked about the China Glaze Cabin Fever vs Chanel Troublante Le Vernis dupe idea (not a dupe) but you can go here to see swatches and enter to win Chanel Troublante!
