So much talk about the Chanel Troublante Le Vernis dupe! You know which one I mean… China Glaze Cabin Fever from the Fall 2015 The Great Outdoors Collection. Guess what, though. I don’t think it’s a dupe!

In this post I reviewed Chanel Troublante and showed some swatches. In the pic below I swatched (L-R) Revlon Untamed, China Glaze Cabin Fever and Chanel Troublante. The first coat of Troublante is thinner than Cabin Fever and the finished color is more copper/purple. The finished color of Cabin Fever leans more burgundy. Similar, but definitely not dupes. On my Instagram and Snapchat (@blushingnoir) I shared more pics where I used the camera flash making the the differences more apparent. I added in the Revlon because I felt like it was what would happen if Cabin Fever and Troublante had a glitter baby.

The China Glaze The Great Outdoors Collection was released in Fall 2015 and had some really pretty duochromes and glitter shades. It never hurts to share some swatches and at this point, maybe you can find a few on sale or on websites! (FYI S’more Fun is as of this post on the ULTA website for $2.08!)

    I used to have a nice duochrome from Sally Hansen called Opal Truth. The undercolor was a light peach or apricot, on top it showed a whole range of other colors from green & blue through purple and pink, as well as a nice sheen; kind of like the colors you can see in an opal which I guess is why they chose the name. The only thing I was not that fond of was the pale orangey undercolor, I would have preferred something more bluey-pink.

    I love all chromatic polishes, the more colours in their spectrum the better. I have some old revlon ones that have the entire spectrum in them, like a fire opal or a black opal… Fantastic. But of the ones in this collection, I think I like pondering, followed by glam ping, then cabin fever 🙂

    I haven’t found my favorite duochrome polish yet unfortunately! I have a couple of them in my collection & I like fan appeal from sally hansen the best out of what I have. I’m still looking for the one I can’t do without!

    My fav duochrome was one made by OPI for Sephora that was an oil-slickish gold color. I wore it to Mardi Gras and it was perfect!

    I think ILNP makes some of the best ones, but I found a sally hansen nail prisms in my polish colleciton that I love called amber ruby – it’s even similar to both of these!

    I don’t have one, because I rarely do my nails ??
    I am a doctor and I like to keep them short and bare.

    I know some people don’t consider it a true duochrome, but I think it totally counts- Clarins 230 has been my huge lemming and holy grail polish since I started getting into polishes, about 12 years ago. Gah! It’s just sooo pretty!

    Thanks for these swatches. You’re right- they’re not dupes- but they’re close enough for the price difference (if I don’t win the super-awesome giveaway!!!).
