“I love goooooooold” <— I said that in my Austin Powers Goldmember voice lol The trend, is highlighting… the look is gilded. What better way to wear both of these than by illuminating with Sleek MakeUP products!
The Gold Standard i-Lust Eyeshadow Palette ($11.99). The colors in The Gold Standard are so gorgeous…. golds in different tones and shades… a burgundy brown… taupe… it’s like my end-all-be-all of shades. The formulas are a mix of 4 powders and 2 creams – all nicely pigmented and easy to blend/use. These wore all day on me over a primer. *Of course this palette is no longer available on the Sleek MakeUP website but i was able to search and find it on a few other websites so I figured you’d still like to see some pics and swatches just in case you want to pick it up!
Solstice Highlighting Palette($14.99 // Sleek MakeUP). Solstice is a quad of pigmented highlighters in Ecliptic (neutral light tan), Hemishere (icy lilac), Subsolar (icy peach) and Equinox (white gold). I love illuminating with shades like this and the fact that Sleek has them housed all in one place completes my life. On the back of the box they give you some tips on how to use all four – Ecliptic across the brow-bone, Hemisphere on the cheekbones, Subsolar down the bridge of the nose and Equinox at the cupid’s bow.
Pompeii Barekissed Illuminator($13.49 // Sleek MakeUP). These illuminators are fabulous for getting a sunkissed glow all year long! You can apply this directly anywhere on your body or mix with foundation. I like to just dab a bit of Pompeii on my cheeks and blend it out for a warm “I was just in the sun” look to my face. Cuba would make a fabulous highlighter and the other two shades (Cuba & Casablanca) are gorgeous for the cheeks!
Money Talks Glitter Me Lip Gloss($7.49 // Sleek MakeUP). With glittery lips, especially for a normal sort of occasion, you want to be more demure. Money Talks is a very sheer bronze with glitters. What I like about this particular gloss is that there is a lot of slip so it feels fantastic while you’re wearing it and it amps up the dimension of deep shades, which is perfect for these colder months. As the gloss wears down you can’t feel any sort of grittiness, which is also important to me because I do not like that feeling! Money Talks is a limited edition shade.
The swatches below are done dry on bare skin (no primers):
