SPRING. At this point in the year I am so welcoming of Spring Collections. Technically the winter weather hasn’t been too brutal but we are gearing up for a “blizzard” here on the East Coast so I am embracing these happy, light, warm, SPRING colors! NARS Nouvelle Vogue (available now at narscosmetics.com) is a beautiful collection that I found to be warm, but with some cool shades mixed in. The items I received were mostly warm but will look killer when when worked in with the cooler tones. Ugh… always. I always need it all.
Hammamet Duo Eyeshadow ($35.00 // NARS). Hammamet is described as a matte beige (left side) & a bronzed rose (right side). I love how this duo can be worn so easily together but can be incorporated into so many other eye looks with multiple shade choices. Both shades are soft, easy to blend and last all day over primer. This product is limited edition.
Tarvos Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow ($29.00 // NARS). Tarvos is described as an icy mint. Definitely frosty and packs a lovely metallic punch when worn wet. Even when dry the mint shade pops and looks awesome at the inner corners of the eye.
Kari Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow ($29.00 // NARS). Kari is described as a soft rose pink. Kari definitely has a browned tone to it’s rosiness and I find that it makes a wonderful transition shade for the eye. It had a slight shimmery effect and decent pigment even when swatched dry. It blended well whether worn in the crease or on the lid.
Impassioned Blush ($30.00 // NARS). Impassioned is described as pink orchid. It applied well with just enough pigment to make one pass of the product on each cheek enough for my skin tone (I’m fair-light). I found that it blended well on me and it lasted all day. A great everyday shade!
Instant Crash Lip Gloss ($26.00 // NARS). Instant Crash is described as a soft shimmering apricot. When worn alone it’s color is virtually undetectable but it layers beautifully with coordinating shades. The shimmer isn’t very noticeable on the lip but it does add a nice dimension to the finished look. I love that this gloss isn’t thick or goopy and it’s hardly sticky (around a 2 on a scale of 1-10). This product is limited edition.
The swatches below are done dry, on bare skin (no primers):
This collection also features one other Lip Gloss in Vida Loca (Guava), two Lipsticks in Rosecliff (soft rose, satin) and Banned Red (mulled wine, satin) and one other Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Cressida (shimmering midnight blue). Vida Loca is limited edition.
In the look below (FACE) I started off using the Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand in 2 Fair under my eyes (I haven’t reviewed this but it’s not a concealer (for me anyway) but it’s more of an eye treatment and it makes the makeup at my undereye area hold better with less creasing. There is also a slight brightening effect that I love). Prime the face with Murad Oil-Control Mattifier and conceal with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. The foundation is NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint in Groenland and all is set with NARS Light Reflecting Loose Settling Powder. I contoured/bronzed with Benefit Dallas then used NARS Impassioned Blush and BECCA Champagne Pop to highlight. (EYES) Prime with Urban Decay Primer Potion & use NARS Kari in the crease as a transition shade. Apply NARS Tarvos at the inner corners of the eye and bring towards the center of the lid. With NARS Hammamet Duo Eyeshadow use the bronze rose side all over the lid and blend up and the matte beige to blend that out up to the brow. I also used the bronze rose side to smudge under the lower lash line. The liner is Marc Jacobs Brown(Out) Highliner Gel Eye Crayon and the top mascara is NARS Audacious. For the bottom lash mascara I used Clinique Bottom Lash. (LIPS) Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat (line and fill in the lips) and NARS Instant Crash Lip Gloss.

Everything looks so pretty & glittery; I especially adore Tarvos! I could see myself getting a lot of use out of it. :]
