It doesn’t matter if you watch one YouTube video or 500. The art of contouring and highlighting the face takes practice. There are different face shapes and they also come in sizes. So if I’m watching Jaclyn Hill do her contour and I try to put my products where she does it’s going to look off. Watching other people can give you the general idea but you need to practice on yourself and find the best placement for your own face shape. Because this trend isn’t going anywhere there have been several companies develop products to make perfecting it easy. One of those products is the PÜR Cosmetics Cameo Contour Dual-Ended Contour Stick ($39.50 // ULTA Beauty).
The Cameo Contour is a dual-ended stick designed with the depth and dimension to make flawless contouring easy. I love that it’s two-in-one and I don’t have to worry about digging up two coordinating products. It’s less I have to think about, which makes me happy. The products also include PÜR’s age-defying Ceretin Complex, Sodium hyaluronate and Light-Reflective Microspheres. They are oil and petroleum free.
Included in the box is a little cheat-sheet that shows you the general placement of where the highlight and contour should go and it also lists them. I personally never highlight the center of my forehead because I’m oily and the shine I get on the daily is enough of a highlight. As if the cheat sheet wasn’t enough they also include a sponge applicator to help blend it all in. Dampen the sponge slightly to help blend in the product and keep it in place all day – one end is rounded (to buff and highlight), one is tapered (for hard-to-reach areas) and one side is flattened (to contour).
I like to apply this by using the stick to draw on the areas I’d like highlighted and contoured. I don’t like anything too harsh so I just do one pass of color and then use the sponge to blend. You can build up the intensity as needed. The products were creamy and went on easily. They blended well with the included sponge – which was a relief. I always worry a beauty sponge won’t be on par with the beautyblender but this one works very well with the Cameo Contour (I haven’t tried it with other products). I think it’s fabulous that PÜR includes one in every package. My contour and highlight lasted an 8-hour day without having to touch-up.
Below I have all 5 shades swatched. As you can see some appear identical and yes, I double-checked to make sure I didn’t swatch the same one twice.
What are some of your favorite products to use for highlighting and contouring?
The PÜR Cosmetics Cameo Contour Dual-Ended Contour Stick retails for $39.50 and is available at ULTA Beauty, Kohl’s and purminerals.com.

Light might be worth looking into for me.

I’ve never tried pur. The only cream bronzer I’ve used is my Nars but I’ve rarely used that. I tend to stick to my powder contour sets. This looks like something I may have to try though.
