Beauty tools are all around us (thankfully) and they’re in place to make our lives easier. What would we have done without of off these wonderful gadgets that curl our hair, apply our makeup flawlessly, help us self-clean… I know you don’t have all day, so I’ll just assume you know what I’m babbling on about.
Here are a few of my favorite beauty tools and gadgets that I tried out in 2015!
Morphe Brushes. Morphe is such a new love of mine. I saw a video from Jaclyn Hill about her fave Morphe brushes and immediately sent my mom my Christmas wish list (What? You don’t?). She got me a few brushes, the 35T shadow palette and Jeffree Star Redrum Velour Liquid Lipstick. A fan girl is born.
Since then I’ve been watching all of the YouTube videos I can and making more must have lists. I even joined the LiveGlam Monthly Brush Club (called #MorpheMe) where for $19.99 a month you get at least $30 worth of Morphe brushes. Much better than beauty samples, right?! They ship really fast and you get access to special discounts on the Morphe website. In my first shipment I got the M208, M173, M209, M167, M200, M176, M217 and M215. Right now it’s sold out but be sure to join the waiting list!!
Jewelry cleaner. A lot of places don’t charge to clean your jewelry but some do, particularly if you didn’t buy your jewelry there. I went to Tiffany once a few years ago to get one of their necklaces cleaned and it was $15!?? I have too many pieces of jewelry for that mess so I clean my stuff at home.
Lately I’ve been using products from Connoisseurs. The Sonic Dazzle Stick ($34.99 // Target)* is a hand-held tool that cleans your jewelry like a pro would. Two non-toxic gels are included – one for gold, diamonds and fashion jewelry and one for silver. The Dazzle Drops Advanced Jewelry Cleaner ($8.99 // Target)* is fresh every time and includes enough product for 80 cleanings. There is also a Dazzle Drops Silver Jewelry Cleaner ($8.99 // Target)* that will remove dirt and any tarnishing from silver jewelry – it’s even safe to use with silver jewelry that holds gemstones! Money saved on cleaning jewelry means more makeup and handbags can be bought 😉
Kiss Instawave Automatic Curler ($49.99 // ULTA Beauty)*. Sometimes you just want pretty waves without the hassle of an actual curling iron. This is particularly true when I’m doing my daughters hair. The Kiss Instawave Automatic Curler was a savior for me over the holiday season. My daughter always wants her hair curled for special occasions like her momma and this made it that much quicker to get both of our hair styled. My daughters hair probably holds curl worse than mine does and when I use the Instawave on her we get a good couple of hours out of the style rather than 15 minutes.
At Home Laser Treatments. This day-and-age there are so many gadgets for us to de-hair ourselves with! In 2015 I did a four post series review of the tria Hair Removal Laser 4x ($449.00 // Sephora)* and it’s been an essential part of keeping unwanted hairs out of my life. Initially it’s quite the investment, but if you get it during a 20% off sale or during some sort of beauty insider or VIB perk it’ll cut the cost and be so worth it! (note: my series with tria was sponsored, but this inclusion was not – I put it in here because it really is one of my favorite beauty gadgets!).
My next beauty tool purchase is going to be a simplehuman Sensor Makeup Mirror ($200.00 // Neiman Marcus). Again, another investment that I’m going to want to get on discount BUT I’ve been looking to upgrade for awhile now and I think it’ll streamline my small vanity space. Also I need a new vanity, but that’s an entirely different post.

You sold me on the jewelry cleaner. Esposo upgraded my wedding ring last year and I haven’t gotten it cleaned since then. Soooo much more convenient being able to do it at home.

I’m curious about the laser deal. I have some stupid hairs on my chin that are the bain of my existence and I would love to kiss them goodbye!
