Why does everyone have such a love/hate with glitter? Wearing glitter doesn’t mean that you have to wear it everywhere on your face and body at every moment of every single day. It also doesn’t have to get everywhere. You also don’t have to be under 21 to go out in public with it on. There are a ton of glitter-esque products out there that you can add to your look, at any age, as well as products to hold them in place all day long.
These six products from Urban Decay are some of my favorites to keep you glittering and glitzing (which is now a word, because I said so). Check out my thoughts as well as some tips on how to use and wear them!
Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow ($21.00 // Sephora). 15 shades are available in this eye shadow formula. Some flash a little more than others but they all offer glitter and glitz. The shades can be worn wet and dry but I found even when worn dry they still pack a major punch. Wearing them wet will up the metallic factor and really help you show off your lids.
Check out my previous review of a few of the shades here. I like to wear these patted on top of the center of the lid when I have a matte look on. This helps amp it up for night and make it not so work safe. When I really want to go bold I lightly dampen my brush, scoop up some color and press it into my lids. Zodiac, Scorpio and Solstice look especially awesome like this!
Below all 15 Moondust Eyeshadows are swatched dry, with no primers.
Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($20.00 // Sephora). Seven shades of Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner are available and I received six to share with you. These liners are technically just glitter suspended in a clear gel base. Where this product really shines is when worn over-top of a saturated black eye liner (I love Perversion Cream Eyeliner).
The applicator is a slim brush that picks up product easily to deposit on the lids or wherever you desire your glitzing to be (obv no judgement).
Below six of the Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner shades are swatched on bare skin. (L-R: Distortion (iridescent glitter), Glamrock (silver glitter), Amp (light blue w/ iridescent glitter), Spandex (deep blue-black w/ iridescent glitter), Junkshow (bright pink w/ iridescent glitter) and ACDC (bright purple glitter). The only one I don’t have swatched is Midnight Cowboy (beige glitter).
Urban Decay False Lashes ($15.00 // ULTA Beauty). There are two categories of false lashes, Fast East Sexy and Perversion, each with three options.
Fast Easy Sexy are partial false lashes which are perfect when you want a little bit more to your lashes but not something as dramatic as a full set. Three sets are available in Instalush, Instaflare and Instalure – which is the most dramatic of the three (not shown).
Instalush
Instaflare
Perversion lashes are for those that want to make a serious statement with their eyes. Three sets are available in Bait, Glitter Dip and Trap (not shown).

Of course, what’s the point in wearing all of this glam if it’s not going to last?! Urban Decay has some major cult products for keeping your makeup on point throughout your day and evening.
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($30.00 // Sephora). I feel like if you were interested enough to check out my Urban Decay post then you probably already know how awesome their All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is. It actually has “temperature control technology” to keep the look that you just spent at least an hour on from disappearing, melting or looking like junk. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not have to keep checking myself in the mirror every hour. Pop this in the fridge for a cool mist in the Summer.
Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer ($20.00 // Sephora). If you’re one of those people that has lashes that clump with more than one coat of mascara then Subversion Lash Primer may be your new best friend. I love this because not only does it pair up well with Perversion Mascara but it makes it so I only need one coat of mascara to achieve the effect of three coats.
Urban Decay Primer Potion ($20.00 // Sephora). This is available in several shades but the one shown here is Minor Sin, which is a champagne shimmer. I like to use this one when I want my shadows to have that much more OOMPH. When I just want a regular primer my other favorite is the Anti-Aging version… because you can never have enough anti-aging product on your body (particularly your face) at all times. UDPP is one of the few eye shadow primers that keeps my shadows from creasing throughout the day. My lids are oily, and not all eye primers are created equal.
Urban Decay products are available at Sephora, ULTA Beauty, Nordstrom, Macy’s and urbandecay.com.
