This week for Makeup Wars we’re talking our recent beauty splurges! Ever since my purchase of the BECCA Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector (review) I’ve had a rekindled obsession with the entire brand. In the last month or so I purchased a few things and was also sent a few things to try out! All of my reviews are below along with a look so you can see how I wore them.
Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation* ($42.00 // Sephora). 20 shades of this foundation are available but the one that matches best for me is Cashmere. I’m forever looking to tame the shine on my face. When applied this foundation was wonderfully mattifying, applying easily and blending out well. The coverage is medium but I did add a bit more to areas that needed it. I didn’t notice that this kept shine at bay any better than the other foundations I use and love, but this is definitely a great one if you need your makeup to last all day. I blotted my face with blotting papers and didn’t feel like I needed to apply more makeup product, which was nice! I also love that it’s got the good, buildable coverage but still feels lightweight when worn.
Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème* ($32.00 // Sephora). 12 shades of this concealer are available but the one that matches best for me is Butterscotch. I found that this was creamy and easy to apply, covering all that I needed it to without disappearing on me. You don’t need a ton of product to get the job done so start slowly and add more as needed. The only downfall I have with it is the scent. It’s got a waxy odor to it… which doesn’t translate when you apply it (so you don’t have to worry about smelling it all day) but it is noticeable when you open the pot.
Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Poured ($38.00 // Sephora). Five Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured are available and I purchased the one in Rose Gold. Because obsessed with all things Rose Gold! I was interested in this more as an eye shadow base more than a cheek color. It doesn’t hold the shadows well on it’s own, it absolutely requires a secondary primer or creasing will ensue. However it looks gorgeous with shadows over-top (see the look below!).
Ombre Rouge Eye Palette* ($40.00 // Sephora). Be still my rapidly beating heart. This is probably my favorite “rouge-hued” palette of all time. Five shades are featured in Neutral Bone, Pastel Mauve, Dusty Rose Petal, Burnt Sienna and Deep Plum. The pigment is fabulous, the shades are easy to blend and they work easily together and alone. The colors in this palette can be worn wet or dry and can also be used as an eye liner and for brows.
Automatic Eye Pencil* ($23.00 // Sephora). Only two shades are available in this eye pencil formula and I received Goa, which is described as a bronzed chocolate brown. It’s gorgeous on and works well for a strong look or a demure every day look. It stayed the day on the top lid and also below the lower lid, but did not hang on more than an hour in my waterline. It’s not touted as a waterliner, but that’s generally how I wear my liners so you know I was testing it there 😉
Eye Tint* ($24.00 // Sephora). Of the four shades available I received Romanticism, which is described as a mauve bronze. The eye tints apply semi-sheerly for a wash of color that you can easily wear alone or wear as your base for eye looks. There is a bit of shimmer (but not over-kill!) and it blends well onto the eye. On it’s own I need to wear a secondary primer underneath so it lasts all day long, but when I put other shadows on top it holds them in place on it’s own.
Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé ($27.00 // Sephora). Six shades are available and I bought Papaya/Topaz, which is described as bright tangerine red infused with golden bronze. This is definitely (to me, anyway) a Summer deal but I love the warm, shimmering, bronzed look it gives to my cheeks. It applies well and looks luminous with a color that lasts the day.
Afterglow Palette ($39.50 // ULTA Beauty). If ever you were looking to try a fun selection from BECCA for glowy purposes the Afterglow Palette should be your purchase. It’s got three Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed inside in Moonstone, Rose Gold and Topaz as well as two Mineral Blushes in Wild Honey and Flowerchild. Obviously I love the Shimmering Skin Perfectors but this was my first rodeo with the Mineral Blushes and I thought they were smooth, pigmented and so gorgeous. Definitely needing a full size of Flowerchild!
Champagne Glow Palette ($34.00). This is the LE palette featuring the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter! Two other shades join the latest cult highlighter in Blushed Copper and Pearl. Obviously, seeing as how obsessed I am with Champagne Pop, this palette is one of my favorite things. Wear them on your face, lids… wherever!
I posted a look a few days ago on Instagram where I’m wearing these products!
To get the eye look start by using a primer for your eyes – I used Benefit Air Patrol – and then apply a layer of BECCA Rose Gold Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Poured all over the lid and through the crease. From the BECCA Ombre Rouge Eye Palette Pastel Mauve is used as a transition shade, Dusty Rose Petal is on the lid and Deep Plum is at the outer V and through the crease. Neutral Bone was used to highlight and from the BECCA Champagne Glow Palette I patted a bit of the shade Blushed Copper to the center of my lids. Use the BECCA Goa Automatic Eye Pencil to line the eyes on the top and also the bottom. The mascara is Chanel Rouge Noir Le Volume and the lipstick is Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw.
BECCA Cosmetics products are available at Sephora, ULTA Beauty and beccacosmetics.com.

I love BECCA highlighters and blushes!! I’m really in love with the Afterglow palette, and have probably 6 of their highlighters in various forms, and 2 full size blushes (Gypsy and Damselfly), but I think Gypsy has been sadly discontinued.
I need to get some more of the blushes… I’ll look for Damselfly! =D
Damselfly is pretty, but dupe-able. It was Gypsy that was unique but it’s been DC 🙁
So many goodies! You look amazing!

Thank you! Def pair up the palette with the Rose Gold underneath…even though I love Ombre Rouge on it’s own the Rose Gold really brought up the intensity!
Another stunning look!
I love the Becca products I have purchased, so far. Well… The jury is still out on the under eye corrector. I need more time with this baby. I’d love to get some eye and blush colours to round out my little Becca hoard.

LOVE your FOTD! SO gorgeous!! That lippie is everything! <3
Thank you!!
I really enjoyed reading this review of your Becca stash. I bought the Concealer this summer and I like it (though I’ve gotta find it again). Fortunately, I didn’t notice any discernible scent with mine. I love the idea that you suggested for the Rose Gold Skin Perfector. I bought one a year ago because I too am obsessed with rose gold, but the shade is too dark for me even with a fan brush. I love your idea of using it as an eye base, even as a base over primer. I’m going to try it so it doesn’t go to waste. I just bought the Opal Highlighter Duo, and that shade is a better fit for me. I love the shadow palette that you received. Gorgeous shades.

The Rose Gold SP looks GORGEOUS with the Ombre Rouge! If you have that palette or similar colors you’ve got to try it!
I bought a friend the Champagne Glow palette for a Christmas gift but now I think I need one for myself. Those face palettes are really stunning.
