Personally, I’m not one for Winter weather. I even bought a shirt this year that says “If it’s snowing I’m not going”. I refuse to go anywhere when it’s snowy, particularly if the roads are covered. Since the weather has actually been nice (here in PA we’re seeing highs in the 60s!) I’ve been taking the opportunity to prep my skin, in particular my hands, for the frigid temperatures.
It’s really no secret that my one of the favorite lotions to use in this house (particularly by my hubs and his thirsty man hands) is the Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Advanced Repair Lotion. This lotion uses healing micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly making it fantastical for healing dry skin and also keeping your skin deeply moisturized so it never gets that way again. We’ve had it on hand ever since the first try and we have been stocking it up double-time in anticipation of the cold weather. I may hate to be outside in the snow, but my kids love it. It’s like children don’t actually feel weather. In the Summer it’s never hot – they can run around all crazy-like, sweat, stink… they’re never miserable. In the Winter they can bury themselves in snow playing games, building things, having battles… they never get cold. Mama gets cold.
Since we’re so stocked up on the Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion I can be sure to coat my hands before I put my gloves on to really lock in the moisture so that my hands don’t hurt or feel tight when I do come in from the out-of-doors. These retro Freezy Freakies gloves (below) are puffy to keep my hands warm while I play outside with the kids and are soft so that the lotion can really work it’s magic. I’m basically a parental multi-tasker when I do this.
Also… these gloves make me feel like I’m also a kid again and they feel so good on the inside… I totally use them at night when I do my manis. Inside the house.
