When I went into Walmart to pick up the new Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara I couldn’t help myself. I ended up hauling quite a bit of product – new items as well as some that have been out for awhile that I’ve been dying to try! This haul turned out to be the perfect, quick hack for an event appropriate smoky eye.

For this look I purchased the following items:

With these items I created an eye look that’s subtle but has a sultry pop of color as well as MAJOR lash – without any sort of false lashes or glue. Because that sexy eye isn’t heavy on lid color it gives the opportunity to show of a serious Fall statement lip.

For the eye look I started off using the (1) Maybelline Color Molten Eye Shadow in Taupe Craze. The right side is all over the lid and through the crease while the left side is used to blend out the crease up past the brow bone. (2) Using the Maybelline Master Kajal Cream Kohl Eyeliner in Purple Dusk I thickly lined the top lash line and also the bottom lash line and waterline. (3) Next I skipped the falsies and applied three coats of the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. (4) I finished up the eyes by defining the brows with the Maybelline Brow Define + Fill Duo in Soft Brown.

I like a bit of a gloss for a fun event so I added (6) Maybelline Color Elixir in Caviar Couture on top.

    This is a stunning look for fall – the purple liner on your brown eyes is to die for! Me thinks I need to spend a bit of time in the Maybelline section the next time I’m at CVS or Target!

    I’m not impressed by your eyelashes at all. The look clumpy and not well fanned out. I use Maybelline mascara (colossal) also but this one didn’t seem do have any benefits. I probably won’t by this product based on your tutorial.

      Hi Hannah! My lashes tend to cross even without mascara (I joke that I have lash cowlicks like I have cowlicks in my hair…the struggle is real), some mascaras do exacerbate that more than others. This one didn’t do it half as badly as some others. For instance, I work for PUR Cosmetics and cannot wear their mascara because of how wet it is and how much it clumps me up. Therefore, even though I work for them, I never recommend it. I did enjoy this one from Maybelline and like how it adds drama. Hopefully you can find a favorite at the drugstore or at a counter! TTYS!

      Thank you so much!! I didn’t have any mascara transfer or migration throughout the day and the lift held up for the entire day =D (I’d say I wore makeup 8 hours that day, maybe a bit more).

      Generally I apply each coat the same way as the first, depending on the mascara brush. With this one the first coat I start as close to the base of the lashes as possible and then the other two coats probably mid-way to the tip.
