One of my favorite things that MAC Cosmetics does is involve their fans… real people. MAC reached out to their peoples and asked them to enter a contest… simply, in 140 words, tell them what makes you unique. Why are you awesome? Six people would be chosen to fly all expenses paid to NYC, receive a makeover and star in a photo-shoot which would represent the Fall 2015 MAC Collection – M∙A∙Cnificent Me.
This collection is now live! I have a few products to share with you and then at the bottom of the post you can meet the winners of the contest!
M∙A∙Cnificent Me: Eye Shadow x 9 ($40.00 // Nordstrom). Shades include Cool Complement (cool medium brown), Frankly Frosty (light grey taupe), M∙A∙Cnificent Me! (pinky white frost), Fabulous DNA (light pink shimmer), In My Element (cool silver pearl), To the Eye (midtone rose), Sable (gold-plum w/ bronze pearl), Type (medium bronze shimmer) and Dance in the Dark (deep cool brown).
This is my first experience using one of the MAC Eyeshadow x 9. A big complaint about these palettes is that the pans are small but really they’re the perfect size for getting your brush into. The MAC 239 (for example) is perfect for these palettes. One of the shades in this palette, Sable, is the only permanent shade and it’s also one of my favorite MAC eye shadows of all time (which makes it okay that it’s perm!). I found that the quality of the 9 shades was wonderful and all of them worked well together. None seemed dry to me and I didn’t experience fall out.
Lipstick ($16.50 // Nordstrom). Of the five shades released I have two to share with you in Self Aware (coffee nude, amplified) and Fashion Revival (deep raspberry, matte).
These lipsticks are smooth and creamy – even the matte shade, Fashion Revival, is comfortable to wear on it’s own without the help of a balm or a gloss. I was also impressed with the staying power of this shade. Even through eating and drinking there was still some left – and not just as a lip ring.

Wow I absolutely love the whole idea behind this collection! Way to go MAC! 🙂 Also love to hear (and see) that the eyeshadows still perform beautifully as well – I have yet to experience the Eyeshadow x9 palettes as well and I was afraid the formula wouldn’t be as good as their full size. Since I have so many eyeshadows a smaller size definitely doesn’t bother me! 😀 Beautiful look Brooke! <3

Palettes like this one must be permanent. I will go get mine tomorrow:) It really reminds me Bobbi Brown palettes, but with an adequate pigmentation. In the last few months Mac won me back – I love both palettes from Haute dogs collection, even going to get a backup for Posh Pedigree (without primer it gives me a sheer glowy finish similar to Suqqu, lasts all day and blends beautifully). This palette also looks like a good value for money, even if it costs here $60.
Fashion Rwvival is one of my favorite lip colors, but Self Aware looks like it would be a good fall color. Thanks for sharing!
