How can you not at least want to own all of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes? That type of need is a blessing and also a curse. A blessing because they have alllllll the beauty. A curse because owning all of them will cost you a couple hundred. Luckily each Naked serves it’s own purpose, so if you must choose one, you totally could.
The most recent Naked is the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette ($54.00 // ULTA Beauty) which will appeal mostly to those of you that like an easy day eye but also enjoy happy hour and a little afternoon/evening smoke.
The packaging on Naked Smoky is plastic, colored, floaty, swirled smoke with raised, gunmetal print on top. It makes me think of what the atmosphere would be in a 1920’s speakeasy.
Inside you’ll find 12 eyeshadows along with a mirror that covers the entire underside of the lid.
Included shades in this palette are 9 never before seen colors as well as 3 exclusive ones:
- High // champagne shimmer with micro-glitter.
- Dirtysweet // medium bronze.
- Radar // metallic taupe with iridescent micro-glitter.
- Armor // metallic silver-taupe with tonal sparkle.
- Slanted // light metallic gray.
- Dagger // medium charcoal with micro-shimmer.
- Black Market // jet-black satin.
- Smolder // deep plum-taupe.
- Password // cool taupe matte.
- Whiskey // rich brown matte.
- Combust // soft pink-taupe.
- Thirteen // light beige satin.
Also included is a fabulous duel-sided brush that is perfect for smudging on one side and blending on the other.
Overall, in terms of reviewing the formula, I’m really impressed with Naked Smoky. It’s in my Top 3, hands down. Each shade was easy to work with and blend with the exception of Black Market, which I found to be a little dry over-all but it still played nicely with the other shades. Naked Basics is a palette I’d reach for daily, but Naked Smoky is one I’d reach for on just about any occasion since you can make so many different eye looks with it – which is better for traveling purposes.
The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette is swatched below dry without primers:
In addition to the eye shadows and the brush there is also a get the look pamphlet included in the box.

Overall, I’m not super excited about this palette. It’s really nice for what it is. It’s just not something I’d purchase right now. Although, I love the look you put together. So pretty!

I passed on this one because I already had the smoked palette and several naked ones, so it seemed like I already had the shades.

I still haven’t moved on it yet, though I think the grays in the palette would be good for me. I really want another Viseart palette so I’m waiting for the Ulta or Sephora VIB sale later in the year for this one

I don’t own Naked 3 or this Naked Smoky palette and it makes my heart sad. We just moved states and I’m getting ready to start school, so dropping that much money on a palette when I have so many other palettes isn’t feasible right now. And it hurts my little heart, haha.

Luckily it’s not LE so it’ll be there for you later! I get the sads when my budget doesn’t allow for makeup… it’s hard to choose but school always comes first!
