How To Wear: Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow

August 19, 2015

Last month I reviewed all six of the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows ($32.00 // Nordstrom). Because I mentioned that these shadows can be blended together and worn on their own without the help of extra primers or powder shadows I had a few readers ask me on social media about doing up a look, specifically using Cleopatra.

To see how I got the look, keep reading! Also, be sure to check out the original review here. The Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows used in this look are Bette, Cleopatra and Jean. Below in the pic I lined the brushes up that I used with each shade.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise eye look

To get the look below:

(1) Using a small, fluffy brush pick up a bit (and I do mean a bit) of Cleopatra and dab it on your eye lid (leaving the inner corner of the eye bare) using a pressing motion with a slight push to it. You’re not swiping or blending this color at all. If you blend it or swipe it, it’s going to streak. Continue to pack this color on until it’s as intense as you want it. I did two layers of Cleopatra to get this particular look. In this look I also used the color to get a thickly pointed cat-eye at the outer corner of the eye. Not necessary, but easy to do with this product.

(2) Taking a wider, but still fluffy, brush pick up a dab of Bette and dab press it into the crease. After the color is pressed in begin to very lightly blend it in and move it upward. I did this twice to deepen the color just a bit more.

(3) Using a semi-firm, small tapered brush pick up some of Jean and work the color into your inner corner using the pat and press motion. When it’s on there blend it lightly and neatly into Cleopatra. I also used this brush to put Jean under the brow bone as a highlight and under the inner third of the lower lash line.

(4) With the same brush pit up a bit of Cleopatra and smudge the color under the rest of the lower lash area.

(5) Grab a dark black-brown liner – I used Urban Decay Stag 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil – and make a small line on the upper lid to define and also line the lower water line.

(6) Three coats of your favorite, volumizing mascara – I used NARS Audacious Mascara. Because that mascara is a little too severe for the bottom lashes I used Clinique Bottom Lash to define those small hairs.
