The theme for the July 2015 ipsy Glam Bag is Summer Lovin’. Five products to “welcome back” Summer – which I don’t get… because it’s already been here… and I’m pretty much over the humidity of it all, TBH.
While this month’s bag was no match for the May Breakups to Makeup bag I did like it much better than last month’s bag. It’s a pretty multi-colored tribal cloth bad with a blue zipper.
What’s inside?
From pūr~lisse, pur-bright ultra skin brightening serum. While I don’t mind when ipsy throws in a skincare sample (because they’re mostly a makeup sub) I’m tiring of pūr~lisse hard. Not just in ipsy… in every beauty bag. I like it, but not enough to have 1000 samples of it laying around… because it’s a sample I can’t review it based on performance, but I’ve liked products from the brand in the past. So this isn’t a bad sample, I’m just over getting them.
From Eva NYC, Freshen Up Dry Shampoo. I heart getting dry shampoos in sub bags. I use the crap out of them. This one does a great job, smells amazing and leaves no white residue!
From City Color Cosmetics, HD Powder. Loose setting powders are my jam because they leave the skin looking matte, which I absolutely require. This particular one isn’t my favorite.. it felt a little too much for me. I like when they’re light enough to never know they were there. In a pinch, this’ll work.
From Nicka K New York, HQ Quad Eyeshadow. A beautiful addition to this month’s bag! A full size eyeshadow palette of pinky plum shades that work well and blend nicely. It looks like two different palettes went out and I likely would have preferred the colors of the other palette – they were bronzy neutrals with a pop of teal.
From Teeez Cosmetics, Read My Lips Lipstick. Everyone got the same shade which is a matte coral called Killing Me Softly. The packaging is to die for! LOVE that. Unfortunately it doesn’t apply evenly at all and tastes like plastic. Unfortunately because the shade and the packaging are on point.
Once again this month I cashed in some referral points for the other versions of the best physical ipsy bag of all time – the Breakups to Makeup bags. Three versions are available and you got one with your May ipsy shipment. For 500 points each you could get the others. It totally drained my balance but I’m totally okay with that because IT’S BREAKUPS TO MAKEUP!
This months bag was definitely worth the $10 – there are a ton of awesome products in there! That quad is awesome and you know no sub bag can go wrong by putting some dry shampoo in my bag.
Ipsy has profile pages, so here is mine. There is also a pretty decent referral program in place. You refer friends and redeem points to get a sweet little bonus in your next bag (use the points to choose your own!). I’ve gotten some really fab full sized products but definitely read the description because some of them are a lot of points for just a sample size. Previous bonuses have been from NYX, Tarte, Revlon and more! Note: These points DO expire. I didn’t know that until recently when I was logged in and noticed my point total… I left for dinner and came back and it was 300 points less. I wish I’d have known that ahead of time so I could have spent them, but hopefully this message will help you out so you don’t lose your points!
Here is where you can go to subscribe to ipsy for a Glam Bag.
What do you think about the July Glam Bag? Are you going to subscribe for August? You Should! I’m always excited to see what they have in store and it’s the best $10 bag out there!

Ha! I’m over the pur-lisse samples too. So cool that you received the eye shadow palette though. I didn’t get it and was a bit sad. I’m still hanging on to Ipsy though because, even though I get disappointed with items I don’t receive, it’s still a great value. 🙂

They’re definitely the best in terms of products and pricing! If you’re willing to spend a bit more Boxycharm is another good one with FULL SIZE products!
