July marks my third month using the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4x. My first post marked the beginning of the journey at hand, which was removing the hair on my arms because it’s always made me extremely self-conscious, as well as my first treatment. My second post offered insight on how the device was to use, how it felt and my results after my second treatment. In this post I want to talk about how my third treatment went as well as answer some questions that were asked by readers on the second post.
On this third treatment I upped the Tria from Level 2 to Level 3. I kept it on that level for the entire treatment and the zaps were a bit more noticeable, but not painful at all. In some places more than others (I imagine where my skin is thinner) the device felt a bit snappier and warmer than it did on Level 2. Like I said, it wasn’t uncomfortable or painful, but for my next treatment I’ll be keeping it at Level 3 rather than upping it to 4.
Hair growth after this treatment was much slower than after the first two treatments. It was days before anything even remotely started to grow back and I’ve noticed the hair is lighter, much slower to grow and doesn’t feel stubbly as it resurfaces (dare I say it’s soft?!).
Your Questions Answered:
Q: “How long are you supposed to use this overall?”
A: Tria recommends using the device every 2 weeks for best results. For permanent results treat the area every 2 weeks for at least 3 months until your desired result is reached.
Q: “What if it hurts too much, even on the lowest level?”
A: Tria makes a product called the SmoothStart Calming Gel. If you apply this before your treatments it will diminish the sensation and help your skin feel cool and comfortable. I basically have a very low tolerance for pain and I haven’t needed the Gel, BUT it’s there if you do! Who knows, if I ever suck it up and go to Levels 4 & 5 I just may need it!

Well, it looks like I know what my next beauty splurge is. I may get this for my birthday in November (which is coincidentally when I get my VIB coupon!)
Between birth control and Hispanic genetics, my face has been much fuzzier than I’d like. I don’t want to shave it, as that is far more maintenance than I’d like and pro treatments are out of our budget. Please keep us updated on if the treatments are working as well as you’d like! 😀
So far I’m loving it! I’ll be posting my final update soon!
I would totally give this a shot!

Whoever invented at-home laser hair removal devices is a genius! This is very convenient, and saves a lot of money.

I wish I could totally get on board with the ‘grow all the hair’ movement, and I definitely don’t shave as much as some, but there’s just some hair I really don’t want on my body. I should look into this – with my fair skin and dark hair, I should be a good candidate.
