Every time I go into any salon I ask them a million questions about their waxing services… mostly about the pain involved. If you ask my parents, my pain threshold is below average and I think that’s why I’m so timid to try out things that appear to be painful. The next step after deciding that I was going for it was figuring out what to get waxed. Because European Wax Center® offers a complimentary wax for first-time guests (FOR HER: brow, underarm or bikini line wax. FOR HIM: ear, nose or brow wax). I chose two to be done on that day – bikini line and also full leg. Might as well go for it!

When I walked in, I was greeted by the friendliest person in the universe (I know this because we were able to chat a bit before my reservation time – before you ask, she had no idea I was there with my blogger hat on). I was feeling a bit apprehensive but the fact that I could sit there and talk with someone like we were just hanging out over coffee relaxed me and prepared me for the next step, which was meeting with Quaila, who would be performing my services.

Quaila led me back to a beautifully decorated hallway and into a private suite where she explained the process to me. Because she is a licensed esthetician and so knowledgeable, I relaxed even more. The 4 Steps to Gorgeous™ process is simple:

  1. Cleanse. The pre-wax cleanser removes any lotion, oil or makeup from the skin.
  2. Protect. A pre-wax oil ensures the wax adheres to hairs and not skin.
  3. Wax. The exclusive, stripless Comfort Wax™ is used to remove the hairs.
  4. Rejuvenate. Finally the skin is pampered with Ingrown Hair Serum (for body) or Calming Cream (for face).

As she went through each step, Quaila went more in depth about what she was doing, why she was doing it and how it would help future hair regrowth. For example, hair grows at different rates so each time you wax the treatment is getting more hair until eventually the hair will all regrow at the same rate.

Obviously, you feel being waxed. That’s expected. What I didn’t expect was that it wasn’t bad at all. Quaila laughed when I said “That was like nothing!” – I imagine she hears that all day from guests.

    I’ve been wanting to try out waxing! I really need to see if there is one in my area! I’m just scared it’s going to hurt so bad! I’ve had my eyebrows waxed and that shiz hurt, so I can only imagine how bad legs and bikini area hurt! Lol.

    I’m still afraid of waxing after doing it a million times! I always anticipate the pain being worse than it is!

      OMG you’re SO lucky! Mine is about 30 min and I don’t mind the drive, but it’d be awesome to have it right there!

      I don’t know if I could do Brazilian! Maybe if I were single LMAO I’m cool with just the bikini line 😉
