10 Dry Shampoo Brands to Check Out

June 25, 2015

[button link=”#” target=”_blank” color=”default” shape=”rounded” size=”small”]Press Sample/Brand Ambassador/Affiliate Links[/button]

Dry shampoo. Why are there so many?! Why you do this to me, beauty brands?! Not all dry shampoos are created equal and with so many different hair types out there not all of them are going to be a fit for you. Here are a few of my personal faves as well as a few of my friends faves. Hopefully it’ll help you out in your seemingly endless search for the perfect dry shampoo (I’ve been there!).

Dry Shampoo to Stock up On

Aveeno Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo ($8.99 // ULTA Beauty)*. Aveeno Pure Renewal has a great, light fragrance to it and works well for mild to moderate oily hair. This is also a nice one to add volume. Note that this isn’t a clear formula so you’ll need to rub it in just a bit to help it absorb. Sulfate-free.

Schwarzkopf styliste ULTÎME Dry Shampoo ($6.97 // Walmart)*. This is awesome for those heavy oil days to soak up every bit and last that way for the day. I found that this one provides great volume and texture, so it works very well for when you want to absorb the oil but also wear your hair up in a style.

Aveeno Dry Shampoo Schwarzkopf Dry Shampoo

Rusk Deepshine Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo ($12.50 // drugstore.com)*. I’m a lover of the texturizing spray so it’s only natural I’d love the dry shampoo also! This is great for absorbing oil and styling. Bonus: it’s invisible and talc-free!

Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo ($23.47 // Amazon)*. While this one is one of the pricier dry shampoos it’s one of the best I’ve personally tried. I probably only need to spray half as much as I usually would on a less expensive dry shampoo and I still get the same results. I do with for the price it was an invisible spray, BUT I let that slide because it works so well.

Rusk & Rene Furterer Dry Shampoo

aussie Total Miracle Collection 7N1 Dry Shampoo ($3.47 // Walmart)*. What is 7N1? 7 benefits in every spray: a 1st day clean look, a boost of freshness, lightweight fullness, color protection, a refreshed feel, a matte finish, and an Aussome scent <— truth. Great price and great results.

Dove Dry Shampoo ($3.94 // Walmart)*. If you have a heavy oil day this one probably won’t be for you. BUT, if you’re looking for just a quick touch-up to your roots while keeping your hair looking clean then this is a good/inexpensive way to go. I love the scent, too!

aussie dove dry shampoo

Biotera Dry Shampoo ($6.50 // Sally Beauty)*. There are several different types of dry shampoo from Biotera including Scalp Refresh, Color Care and Invisible. This is nice because if you’re looking for one to help with color refresh then you get Color Care… is you want the Cooling Mint get the Scalp Refresh, or just go with the regular Invisible Dry Shampoo, which is usually what I grab because I’m simplistic like that (FYI I have color  treated hair and don’t necessarily need to use the Color Care. Regular Invisible works just fine!).

Biotera Dry Shampoo

Klorane Dry Shampoo ($17.45 // Amazon)*. This is another one with options! Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk is awesome for all hair types while the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle works best with oilier hair. There are also tinted versions available. Klorane is a bit more expensive, but again it’s one that you don’t need to use as much with and the Nettle really works well at keeping the oil at bay for a long period of time. They’re also both free of silicones, parabens, sulfates and sodium chloride.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo ($5.99 // ULTA Beauty). This is another that is great if you just need a bit of sprucing up. It’s a light and gentle dry shampoo to give a nice refresh.

Christophe Dry Shampoo ($16.99 // Christophe)*. I reviewed this awhile ago and to this day it’s still one of my top picks. It’ll tame the oil, give the volume and not leave any sort of residue behind. It has a buddy called Dry Conditioner also, and it’s pretty sweet 😉 Read another review here.

Tresemme Christophe dry shampoo

Also not pictured.. I love Batiste ($7.99 // ULTA Beauty)! I actually ran out =( but that is an awesome one for my oily top, frizz bottom hair type!

What dry shampoo is your favorite? LMK in the comments below and also please share your hair type (just in case someone with a similar hair type is on the look out)!

My favorite dry shampoo is from Amika. I love the way it works and the smell. I’ve tried Batiste and it works okay. I just finished the Dove dry shampoo and while it works pretty well, I really dislike the scent.

I didn’t mind the Dove scent but it’s for one of my lighter days lol I can’t remember if I’ve tried Amika but it sounds familiar. Maybe in a sample box? Most of the ones I’ve started off with are samples from the boxes and I end up buying full sizes.

I haven’t tried too many Dry shampoos because I usually go 5-7 days between washing anyway, but I have used the Rusk one. I like that it’s invisible and doesn’t make my dark hair look ashy.

Ugh you are so lucky. When I got my hair done SUPER blonde the bleach helped with the oil but it wasn’t worth the damage =( Nothing else saves me haha

Klorane makes one of my favorite dry shampoos, Batiste makes the other (and it’s great since it comes in a formula for brown hair!)

All of the Youtubers talk about how great Batiste is, and I have tried it, as well as Psst!, but it’s great that drugstores are coming out with more options that are available and affordable. I’m really looking forward to trying the Aussie one when my Batiste runs out. Thanks!
