MAC Wash & Dry Collection Swatches, Review + FOTD

June 5, 2015

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

For Summer 2015 MAC has released a rather large, two part collection called Wash & Dry. Like most of the Summer collections this one features hot, bold lip colors and a slew of blushes and bronzers, as well as a focus on brows. I’m excited to share a few pieces with you today!

MAC Wash & Dry

The packaging is gorgeous with a gold, orange and teal ombre’d together on the product packaging and boxes. It’s the perfect representation of Summer!

Refined Golden Bronzing Powder ($27.50 // Nordstrom). I’m sure there aren’t many of you out there that haven’t heard of Refined Golden, which is described as finely spun golden with soft pearl. It’s released with at least half of MAC’s collections but it’s a beauty and one of my fave bronzers. The packaging makes it all the more stunning! The packaging makes this version of Refined Golden limited edition within the Wash & Dry Collection.

125 Split Fibre Dense Face Brush ($38.50 // Nordstrom). Right off I have to tell you… I checked all of the websites for this to link up and it’s completely sold out. You may be able to find it in store, but call ahead to check on the availability! That being said, do what you can to get your hands on this. This brush is a godsend! It packs on the perfect amount of color to contour with the top and then blend it out perfectly with the sides. I’d buy more in a heartbeat! 125 is listed as limited edition within the Wash & Dry Collection.

Hot/Cold Lipglass ($16.50 // Nordstrom). Hot/Cold is described as True Red but IMO it’s fuchsia. I love this shade for Summer lips and found the formula to be smooth, not too sticky and completely opaque. Hot/Cold is listed as limited edition within the Wash & Dry Collection.

Colour Matters Technakohl & Practice Makes Perfect Technakohl ($17.50 // Nordstrom). Colour Matters is described as Lime & Practice Makes Perfect is described as Deep Blue Green. In December there was a launch of Technakohl liners that had a formula that was not so impressive (see review here). I found that the two Wash & Dry Technakohl Eye Liners that I tried here had wonderful pigment and glided easily over the eye, lasting all day. Both of these Technakohls are listed as limited edition within the Wash & Dry Collection. *If you’re looking for dupes within the permanent line of Technakohl eye liners check out Sourpuss for Colour Matters and Take the Plunge for Practice Makes Perfect. Sourpuss is pretty spot on but Take the Plunge is more vibrant, however still the closest.

Monday Blues Studio Nail Lacquer ($13.50 // Macy’s). Monday Blues is described as Blue and is a cream. Below is two coats. It painted on easily but probably did need a third coat to cover completely. In some places in the pic I can see some nail, IRL it wasn’t as noticeable. Monday Blues is listed as limited edition within the Wash & Dry Collection.

In the look below: (EYES) UDPP, MAC Phloof! Eye Shadow from lash line to brow, MAC Practice Makes Perfect Technakohl smudged up and MAC Satin Taupe Eye Shadow blended into that and up through the crease. I also smudged Satin Taupe beneath the lower lash line. The mascara is Benefit Roller Lash. (BROWS) IT Cosmetics YBBB and Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. (FACE) Cover FX BB Gel Mattifying Anti-Blemish Treatment in N Light, Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup SPF 15 in Light, MAC Refined Golden Bronzing Powder. (LIPS) MAC Hot/Cold Lipglass.
