As a blogger I happen upon a lot of awesome items, though very few hit that coveted HG (holy grail) status. I don’t take HG items lightly and once an item gets there it remains there forever… or until it gets bumped which rarely happens. Even fewer f my chosen HG items are actually affordable and available on the mass market. Of the two new items from COVERGIRL that I tried out one is absolute, never EVER leave me HG status – and that is the COVERGIRL Intensify Me! Liquid Liner.

First I want to talk about the other new item – COVERGIRL The Supersizer Mascara ($6.85 // COVERGIRL). Just because this mascara wasn’t an HG for me like the liner doesn’t mean it was awful. I actually really liked it! Supersizer is said to give corner-to-corner volume and has quite the intimidating applicator. Instead of the applicator bristles being tapered at the top it’s taped towards the bottom and twisted. As you apply the mascara you’re to slightly twist it for ultimate larger-than-life lashes. I found that this mascara gave good volume/curl but didn’t do much for separation. My lashes have the propensity to stick together as it is, and generally I’m hard pressed to find a mascara that doesn’t accentuate that. Supersizer wouldn’t be in the top 5 for me in terms of drugstore mascaras but if the formula were tweaked to where my lashes didn’t stick together as much it’d definitely hit Top 3 because of the nice lift. The shade shown is in 800 Very Black.

COVERGIRL Intensify Me! Liquid Liner ($8.00 // COVERGIRL). Never have I ever had a liquid liner go on that quickly and that evenly with no pigment issues what-so-ever. I looked at myself in the mirror. Looked at the liner. Then called BS. No way did this $6 liner just make my life. So I tried it again the next day. Same results. Every. damn. time. The applicator is different – marker-esque but rounded and flat (like a paddle). You can hold it one way for a thin line or press it flat for something thicker. You guys if they don’t make this liner in every single color of the rainbow part of me will die. It’s that good. The shade shown is 300 Intense Black.

      Thank you, Christy!! I found a great one that I used forever and then my skin went and changed on me =\ I’ve had great luck with IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation and PUR Minerals Liquid Veil! For drugstore Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup has been a savior!

    My new favorite drugstore item is Neutrogena’s Shine Control primer, I usually use philosophy’s Supernatural primer and love it but the Neutrogena is so much smoother and definitely controls the shine a lot longer than philosophy. I’m dying to try the liner after seeing your photos, it looks incredible!

    Now, the mascara was a real winner for me – no clumping, no sticking, just volume and length and lift. Love it. The eyeliner is great, too, but a little harder to maneuver with my old lady crepey lids. More surface area = more drag. Still, I love how dark and glossy it is, and it’s not that hard to use.

    I am loving my Essence Silky Touch blush right now in the shade 10 Adorable. I love it so much that when I dropped it a couple of months ago and shattered it, I had to salvage it and looked up how to restore it. This little blush probably cost me around $3 and I am now hitting pan on it and HEB stop carrying the Essence line at my local store so I am going to be really sad when this is all gone. I prefer it over all the much pricier ones I have from Nars, Cheeky, Hourglass and The Balm. I reach for it almost every single day. Yes, a $3 blush that beats them all.

    The Super Sizer mascara is a HG product for me. I get no clumping at all and perfectly lengthened, defined and fanned out lashes with it. I just use it like a regular mascara wand (but then Too Faced Lashgasm with a similar wand is my other favorite). I wish I were better at applying liquid liner. The two sides are a bit of a challenge for me, and because of that I still prefer Jesse’s Girl felt tip pen for when I wear liquid liner.
