I am absolutely loving that 2015 is the year of 2-in-1 foundation concealer releases. Anything that cuts time spent applying makeup down will always have a major place in the makeup vanity area of my heart. Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer ($27.00 // Sephora) released this February heavy on the pigment/coverage, light on the feel and provides a natural matte finish. Just the way I like it 😉
As you unscrew the cap and pull the wand from the bottle a stopper allows just enough product out to dot all over the face and blend for perfect coverage. This foundation is buildable, but unless you really need major coverage just the one pass should do you up well.
The applicator is my favorite part because it’s got this doe-foot wand where the slanted side is perfect for dotting product on the face and the straight side works well for swiping product over bigger areas. It’s so simple to cover all of the areas needed while being able to concentrate more product on spots that need more coverage.
There is a wonderfully extensive shade selection (20 in all) so it shouldn’t be a problem for you to find a color match. I would recommend playing with the shades in person, however. The shade swatched below is in Fair and on me it resembles more of a medium or light tan shade on me (I run generally MAC NC/NW20 depending on the line).
This foundation is oil-free and is said to provide 12 hours of wear. With the shade being too dark for me I wasn’t able to test out that claim, but it does cover well and even if it doesn’t last the 12 hours I’d be more than willing to do a light powder touch up here and there. I do love the formula in this so the next time I’m at the store I plan on playing around to find a shade match.
What foundation are you loving lately?
Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer retails for $27.00 and is available at Sephora, Nordstrom, Macy’s and clinique.com.

Hi! The shade I swatched was in Fair and it’s far too dark for me (I’m NC or NW20 in MAC depending on the formula. I go up to 25 in the Summer). I haven’t gotten a chance to play with the shades in person but based on swatches I’ve seen online I’d pick up Alabaster for myself. BUT I’d definitely go in person for this one. The shade names and retailer swatches are pretty off. I’m not sure if you’re in the US but Sephora will give samples so you can test it out and they’ll color match you in person. Though I’d recommend taking two or three colors home to test out since the lighting in there is pretty bad. I ran into the same issue when I bought Estee Lauder Double Wear. I ended up having to go in store to get matched because the colors were so bizarre.

Looks like MANy brands are going with the glass bottle, dropper/wand type packaging this time of year. I just bought 2 like this and am LOVING them so far. Havent tried the clinique one but will probably swatch it next time IM on store just to see how it compares. Havent had great luck with Clinique foundations in the past but with 20 shades in this one – I see things have changed !! Thanks for the review:)

I really love the formula on this one! Normally I’m not a glass bottle fan (my drugstore fave from Neutrogena does the glass bottle thing and I can hardly get product out) but the applicator makes it nice on this one.
