Because the runway collabs are obviously phenomenal NARS has gotten with fashion extraordinaire Christopher Kane to launch their latest beauty collection for Summer 2015. The Christopher Kane for NARS Collection features “a bold look of color for lips, eyes, cheeks that combines NARS’ signature color palette with Christopher Kane’s design and aesthetic”. Since 2012 NARS has worked with Christopher Kane and this collection will reflect “three signature Christopher Kane color themes; bold neon, classic neutral and futuristic iridescence which are based on artifacts from Christopher Kane’s past collections“.
The packaging is familiar in feel, as it’s the same black, rubberized packaging that we’re used to. The difference is that the NARS print is in a bold pink neon and Christopher Kane is written though in white. Very fun, yet chic. It definitely stands out and adds flair to packaging that is usually still chic, but very understated.
Parallel Universe Duo Eyeshadow ($35.00 // NARS). Described as an iridescent pink lilac/soft iridescent violet this duo is extremely sheer on the eye and it’s one of those NARS duos that you can definitely wear together for a light look (like I did in the FOTD below) or layer it over deeper shades. You can really see the iridescence in the FOTD pic where my eyes are closed. SO beautiful. Wear this one wet for even more intensity.
Silent Nude Blush ($30.00 // NARS). Pale girls, rejoice. This is a contour shade you can get behind. I’m NC/NW 20 (neutral) and I can barely get any color from this soft beige blush to show up on me. If I layer heavily there will be just a touch but it’s that type of shade that would pair nicely with a bold pink like Starscape Blush, which is also released within this collection. Because this blush doesn’t contain shimmer you can layer to your hearts content without worrying about looking like a disco ball or enhancing pores.
NARS continues to be one of my favorite powder blush brands in terms of quality. The pigment and the formula are just lovely across the board. While Silent Nude was light for me those that are paler will find the pigment they need in it. I found this blush to be particularly great and versatile because it doubles as a neutral eye shadow.
Nebulous Lip Gloss ($26.00 // NARS). Described as a sheer neon cantaloupe this lip gloss is pigmented enough to get you by on a night out but not so much so that you couldn’t wear it for day. The formula is comfortable and lasts around 3-4 hours on me (if I’m not eating or drinking). I love that this looks peachy but as you wear it the pigment in your lips is enhanced and brings out a pinky factor (on me anyway).

Smashbox Violetta Always Sharp 3D Waterproof Kohl Liner is smudged at the top and also used to line the lower waterline. A bit of the soft iridescent violet side of Parallel Universe is smudged under the lower lash line. The mascara is Benefit Roller Lash.
