Dior Eye Reviver Eyeshadow Palette Swatches, Review + EOTD

Just when you think you don’t need any more taupe eyeshadows a palette comes along that changes your mind in an instant. I’d like to say this will be the last time I “need” a taupe eyeshadow, but I like to keep it real with you guys 😉 The Dior Eye Reviver Eyeshadow Palette is the first palette from Dior born to brighten the eyes using luminous, universal neutral shades. These shades can be used in combination to create wider-looking, brighter eyes and flawless lids.

Dior Eye Reviver Illuminating Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette Dior Eye Reviver

Like all Dior palettes this one has the deep navy slipcover with the CD embossed on the front. The exterior palette packaging is a reflective, mirrored silver stamped with Dior while the interior houses a full mirror on the top, six eye products and three application tools. The three tools are a double-sided mini eye shadow brush and sponge-tipped applicator and then a flat, firm brush that you can use for the liner. Generally I’m not a fan of included eyeshadow brushes, but in a pinch these will definitely do!

Dior Eye Reviver eyeshadow palette review

Dior Eye Reviver Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 // Nordstrom). Five eyeshadow shades and one eye liner are featured here – 1: a satin cream shadow, 2: a pearled light tan shadow, 3: a light, greyed taupe shadow, 4: a pearled mauve tinged taupe shadow, 5: a pearled chocolate brown shadow, 6: a blackened-brown eye liner. All of the shades are incredibly soft with impressive pigment… they all seemed to just seamlessly melt into each other when applied. The shadows lasted all day long over a primer and the liner was smooth and easy to apply with a slanted, firm liner brush. I was really happy that Dior chose to use a deep brown liner in this grouping. I feel like brown wouldn’t be enough but black would have been too harsh.

TBH I haven’t been really thrilled with Dior lately, and maybe you noticed that there hasn’t been that much of it featured on this blog as of late, with several of the last products shown being major duds. This palette is the polar opposite of a dud. It’s AMAZING in every way. If you’re going to splurge on one luxury palette this year, without question, the Dior Eye Reviver Eyeshadow Palette should be it.

The swatches below are done dry with no base or primer:

In the eye look below I primed the eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion and applied #3 all over the lid and through the crease. #4 is at the outer V and #5 is in the crease and blended up. #2 is at the inner corners and above the crease color. #1 was used as a highlight and #6 was used as the top liner. I also used a bit of #4 to smudge under the lower lash line. The bottom liner is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stray Dog. The mascara is Benefit Roller Lash.

I love those colors! I honestly run through taupe shades faster than any other. I find they are great to mix with any color combo and can let you really change up the look of colors you already have with a little blending.
