Picture this. You’re at a cheerleading competition with your 6 year old. It’s crowded with kids of all ages and their families, in a huge gymnasium completely packed with people and their germs. As you’re watching a team perform, right in the middle of the routine, the girl at the center base of the pyramid throws up right on the floor where everyone needs to do their thing that day. The best meme’s in the world could not have described my face at that moment. Did everything stand still? No. Not even for a millisecond. That’s not how this works. Maybe you’re thinking “Oh, just run them in the bathroom and clean the girls up” – there’s is absolutely zero time during a cheer competition for that jazz. Some of the girls are in 2-3 teams within their gym and are running from the floor to their next report time so the only saving grace you’re going to have is something quick and convenient to get at them with as they run.

RIGHT?! I did baton/dance competitively and I can’t remember anyone doing that, even at the college level in a full football stadium… apparently it’s somewhat normal here. I’m new to cheer stuff, but I totally wouldn’t have blamed that girl or the team for being like “technical difficulties, brb”

I was waiting for the pukes to hit this entire house after that event. So far, so good lol My daughter had thankfully performed before it all went down, but some of the other girls on the older teams did end up with a flu. I don’t think it was a coincidence lol

I didn’t know hand sanitizers, other than the industrial type ones at the grocery store to use on the carts, came in wipes. Duh. Of course they do.

What a great idea to carry wipes instead of the gel or spray– especially when face with “the puke mat!” These are also brilliant to have in your bag for public bathroom door knobs and anywhere else that there are cooties! This looked like a fun day (puke aside).
