On Friday I took my daughter to see Cinderella. I’m going to go ahead and be honest – it was probably more for me. I was dying to see the live action movie of one of my favorite princesses and my daughter is of course game because movies in the theater don’t happen often and Frozen Fever was playing beforehand.
Cinderella was a fabulous movie. I feel the flow of it was more adult-friendly since it was a two hour movie and did drag a bit. TBH it focused more on parental death than I’d have liked and if they would have glazed over that they could’ve cut it down 30 minutes. Every time they showed a parent laying in a bed Lydia looked at me and loudly asked “Are they going to die?!” Yes, it was to that point. Anyway, even though it’s sold out, I wanted to share the other pieces that I picked up from the MAC x Cinderella Collection (you can see the other pieces I’ve swatched and reviewed here).
Even though I wanted it all I managed to hold back and only grab my top picks – Coupe D’Chic Iridescent Powder, Royal Ball Lipstick, Little Black Bow Fluidline and Pretty It Up Pigment. I talk more on the packaging and other products in this post.
Coupe D’Chic Iridescent Pressed Powder, $28.00. Coupe D’Chic is described as a light golden peach with a solid shimmer. I’m pretty fair (NW20, neutral) and on me this is sheer with a smattering of glitter. It actually isn’t overpowering and looks nice as a highlighter. While it did give me a very small tint of color I definitely felt I needed to use it with a colored blush before I left the house.
Royal Ball Lipstick, $17.50. Royal Ball is described as a fleshy pink with a lustre finish. It’s a pale, milky pink and definitely on the sheer side. It layers nicely with Happily Ever After Lipglass and it’s fabulous for a princess lip!
Little Black Bow Fluidline, $17.50. Little Black Bow is described as Grey with Silver Pearl. The shade is a repromote so you may have it in different packaging. I love that it’s grey but you can almost see a hit of khaki. It looks really cool with the eye look I did below and almost seems to glow on the lid when worn.
These three products are swatched below dry with no primer:
Pretty It Up Pigment, $24.00. Pretty It Up is described simply as gold and it doesn’t get more spot on than that. I swatched this pigment below Dry, Wet (with water) and then over Pearl Varnish Studio Eye Gloss (which was my personal fave). When using this pigment with the eye gloss it’s best to tap your finger lightly on top of the eye gloss then press that same finger into the pigment to pick up some color. Tap the color lightly on the lid. Make sure that you do this as the very last step in your eye routine (besides the mascara). The eye gloss makes it impossible to blend or work with anything else. Even over primer there was still some creasing, but for a few hours I had the eye balls of lust.
In the look below I wore: (EYES) UDPP, Quarry on the lid, Satin Taupe in the crease, Stroke of Midnight in the outer V, Vapour at the inner corners and Phloof! to highlight. Satin Taupe is also smudged along the lower lash line. The top liner is Little Black Bow Fluidline and the bottom is Clinique Black Honey Quickliner. I then took a bit of Pearl Varnish Studio Eye Gloss and applied Pretty It Up Pigment with that using the method described above. The mascara is Benefit Roller Lash.
(FACE) the products from IT Cosmetics mentioned here (but in the pic below I’m wearing the shade Light because the Medium in that post was much too dark for me). I have Coupe D’Chic Iridescent Pressed Powder on my cheeks. (BROWS) are IT Cosmetics Your Brows But Better Brow Power Skinny Pencil and Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. (LIPS) Royal Ball Lipstick and Happily Ever After Lipglass.
Did you pick up anything from the MAC Cinderella Collection? Let me know what you got in the comments!
MAC Cinderella is basically sold out… you can still check out everything that was available at https://www.maccosmetics.com. You can always try your local MAC counter or store to see if anything is left. I tend to have the best luck when I call major cities like NYC and particularly counters in Philadelphia for some reason.
I love this packaging ♥
