Quite frankly I’m at my wits end with the Winter weather. I know I “choose” to live in PA but when I made that choice the seasons weren’t so severe. In fact, they were gorgeous. You got just enough of each one to be happy and right when you were “over it” a new season was upon you.

In these last few years, instead of 4 seasons each with 3 months, we’ve had 4 seasons staying for as long or as little as they darn well please. Unfortunately their attitudes are as follows: Fall (which is my favorite) is hurried… we’re lucky to see a week or two of it before it’s gone; Spring is soggy (yes, that’s totally an attitude) because it’s dank, wet and though it’s the season of “rebirth” and the end of brutal winter it’s my most hated season because rain, mud and sopping clothes are my enemy; Summer is menacing.. unless you have a pool… you guys it’s just too hot anymore, even up North where it would usually be bearable; and finally Winter…

Winter is flighty but likes to hang out so we see all of her moods – Winter is beauty, havoc, dangerous, fun… I could go on. It’s the true 50 shades. In particular Winter is the season that most negatively effects the skin. Yes, Summer is bad so you use SPF. You also need the SPF in the Winter because your skin is still being exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun which do penetrate glass and are reflected by the snow.

While skincare in general is also important year-round I personally focus much more heavily on total body care in the Winter.
