How To // Accessorize the Little White Dress

Another snow day is upon us. I do choose to live in Pennsylvania, but I’m so over this mating of Mother Nature and Elsa. To try and pull myself out of the dreary weather I want to think Spring – which for some reason brings to mind the Little White Dress (aka the LWD).

The LWD, like any good woman, can be beautiful and also dangerous. Obviously, as long as you buy the right one to suit your body type, it’s going to look good on you. But how to accessorize it? Little White Dress

First… the shoes. You have to have amazing shoes for Spring and Summer. Sure I like my heels as much as the next person but even more-so I gravitate towards a jeweled sandal. They go with shorts, dresses (maxi or mini) and even bathing suits. My jeweled sandal collection may or may not rival my collection of Uggs. That’s real talk.

That purse, though… ANY purse goes with the LWD. TBH I usually choose to match my purse to my shoes – especially in this case. Paint the face. Perks of a plain white dress? All the bright makeup and beauty items you can grab. I’m only partly kidding. But seriously no other color that isn’t technically a color goes with ALL THE COLOR. Does that make sense? Did you read it three times fast? Because you’re wearing sandals and because I say so a bold color does well on those toes also. I can’t stand to look at feet. Bright pretty things on your feet make my life easier.

The baubles and bling. This is my favorite part about accessorizing because it’s so easy to change up. Simple items for day, dashing statement pieces for night. Or the other way around. Or make your statement all day, IDC. Whatever you do, do you. I tend to like either something boldly neon or vintage looking. Why be predictable?

Protection. No, not that kind. Heads out of the gutter for just two more minutes, please. You’re wearing white. While you sit there and think “DUH, Brooke” the mom in me is like “No, I still need to school you”. You must protect the dress at all costs.       I was just telling Christa that I want to get a rainbow of Mini MACs and line them up on my wall. I saw Rebecca Minkoff post that once from her store and it’s been the dream!
