January 2015 GlossyBox Swatches & Review

February 5, 2015

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

Are you ready for a new year of Glossybox? For this month the exterior packaging is back to the basics – the classic pink and white. However, the interior remains just as fabulous! While this month is skincare focused there were still other items involved like a must have makeup tool and eyeliner! Keep reading for more info 😉

Glossybox review

Currently available in over 16 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their full sized products, high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, OCC, OPI, Tarte and more.

Glossybox January 2015 review

Let’s check out the goodies inside the January 2015 GLOSSYBOX!

Glossybox January 2015 contents

From Skin&Co Roma, Truffle Therapy Serum. I swear I’ve have this in boxes before and I loved it. It contains the properties of a truffle mushroom and utilizes skin-revitalizing ingredients. This is said to brighten skin, firm and fade lines all while leaving a dewy complexion behind. Clearly I can’t speak to the long-term benefits because it’s a small sample size, but I will definitely use it up.

From Teeez Trendy Cosmetics, Beautiful Flat Brush Stiff. Besides the fact that the design on this brush is beautiful the brush itself is fabulous. It’s similar to the MAC 239 but a bit fluffier. It’s fantastic for applying and packing on lid color. I’d love to see more of these in future Glossyboxes!

From Lollipops, Eye Pencil in Goodbye Moon. I am obsessed with how pitch black and soft this liner is. Oh and the leopard print on the pencil itself doesn’t hurt either 😉 Like most liners it doesn’t last too long in my waterline (where I like to put liner) but it doesn’t migrate down my face and stays put as a top lid liner.

Lollipops Goodbye Moon Eye Pencil Swatches

From Kueshi, Revitalizing Face Toner. This toner contains aloe leaf and flower extracts. My favorite thing? It is designed to control shine in oily-prone areas and soften dry spots. It basically does ALL THE THINGS you’d need. While my face can be sensitive I’m still going to use this every other day and see how it goes. I love the idea of it working how you need it to in multiple ways. Fingers crossed!

From Vichy, Purete Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser. This cleanser removed my makeup well and smells amazing. I don’t know that I can use it daily because of the fragrance, because my skin is sensitive to hormonal breakouts, but it was nice to try and if it were something I knew my skin could handle I’d be all over it.

Glossybox January 2015 swatches review

Like with the October 2014 box Glossybox also included a special gift – a $40.00 gift card to sign up for a discounted HelloFresh food box subscription. This service delivers recipes and ingredients to your door every week. I’m certainly not one for being top chef, so I will take all the help I can get. Three meals a week for 4 people is $129.00. For 2 people it’s $69.00 so I imagine I’ll try that out first and make sure I like it and it’s enough food for everyone. My kids are little garbage disposals. They’re not picky and they’ll eat ALL the food in the house before you can blink. From the looks of it, this service looks absolutely perfect if you live alone or just with an SO.

The January shipment was fantastic because the liner and makeup brush are items I will use daily. I’m also really loving how this new toner is making my skin feel. Was this month worth it? Um, absolutely because you got a GIFT CARD and the makeup brush alone retails higher than the entire box was.

With Glossybox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, beauty tools… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases, every single month.

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

The price is a bit higher than that of other services you may have heard of or belong to.  At $21 I would expect double the awesomeness of what I’d receive from, say, Birchbox.

GLOSSYBOX will always offer a MINIMUM of five products.  After receiving your box, you can fill out more surveys in order to rate the products you received so they can better tailor your next package.  So, basically, after a few months of the service, your packages should be PERFECT.

**TIP – Make sure you review the products received in your GLOSSYBOX to receive 20 GLOSSYDots per review.  You can use these toward your own free box!**

What did you think of the January Glossybox? Are you subscribing for February?

I’m on the fence about this box! I like the sounds of some of the products, but I’m swimming in so many skin care type items I don’t know what to use next!

I love the Glossybox packaging. I think it’s really classy. Looks like a good box with lots of stuff, except the Vichy, that I’m not familiar with. Cool

I’ve been wanting to subscribe to one of these but I don’t want to spend $ on stuff I wouldn’t use. I like that this one tailors to what you like or use 🙂

I am coming dangerously close to subscribing for Glossybox. I just fear that, like Ipsy, I’ll get all of the crap with chemical sunscreen, all of the crap and I will make the items suck, cancel and it will get great, again. Yeah. I’m wounded. #thepainisreal LOL

Instagram post 2181515729102509553_48458351 #ad The top of my daughter's Christmas wish list every single year? @AmericanGirlBrand. She's wanted Julie for years and she's so excited to finally own her! Julie's accessories include a REAL (though sized for the littles) pinball machine, Christmas Fireplace and more. (LINK IN BIO to see the blog post!) I loved this shot of them hanging by my aunt's VW. Though it's not from the 70's I think Julie still appreciates the nod to her favorite decade.

Instagram post 2180806987968962630_48458351 #ad 🎄Holiday shopping for kids never gets any easier. In fact, it seems like every year it gets more difficult to find the perfect gifts for my kids. They can be extremely picky without actually being picky and that means that my husband and I need to come up with some foolproof ideas for under the Christmas tree (so as not to be shown up by the big guy!). ⠀

Instagram post 2180076725802939170_48458351 Every year I love how our family Christmas cards turn out. So much so that I always end up ordering them super early so I can hold them in my hands as soon as possible. It's taken everything in me to not send them out immediately but I'm over here trying to respect Thanksgiving 😅.⠀

@Minted is always the top choice for us because of the quality of the cards we get + I love the shine of the foil pressed look. Every year I'm more and more impressed! Visit my blog post (#LinkInBio) for more details & a discount code.⠀
