NARS St Paul de Vence Duo Eyeshadow & Porto Venere Eye Paint Swatches + Review // Spring 2015

February 4, 2015

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

NARS released neutrals for Spring 2015! A TON OF NEUTRALS! I’m in every day makeup heaven. The color collection is full of warm, wearable colors for your daily routine and can be easily transitioned into a deeper, smokier night look. I have two items from the collection to share with you in this post – the St. Paul de Vence Duo Eyeshadow and the Porto Venere Eye Paint.

NARS Spring 2015 Makeup swatches review

St. Paul de Vence Duo Eyeshadow ($35.00 // NARS). This warm duo contains two eye shadow shades in (L) Shimmering nectarine and (R) Chestnut. Super soft and blendable, perfect when worn alone or together! This item is limited edition.

Porto Venere Eye Paint ($25.00  // NARS). As a huge fan of the NARS Eye Paints I lost my mind when I saw that this new one was coming out. Porto Venere is a soft pale pink and is the perfect base for every eye look. I found it easy to apply and spread out and experienced no creasing even by day’s end.

Both of these products are wonderful and will make the perfect additions to your neutral makeup arsenal. I love when the NARS duo shades can be worn together and that Eye Paint is everything.

NARS Spring 2015 makeup swatches

For the eye look below I used NARS Porto Venere Eye Paint as a base. With the NARS St. Paul de Vence Duo Eyeshadow I applied the shimmery nectarine color (left side) all over the lid and through the crease. With the warm chestnut color (right side) I took a soft crease brush and blended that into the crease over-top of the shimmering nectarine shade, blending upward. I used NARS Himalia Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow at the inner corners and to blend out the crease. I also smudged this color under the lower lash line. The top eye liner is Laura Mercier Canard Creme Eye Liner and the bottom is Urban Decay Muse 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. The mascara is Benefit Rollergirl.

Definitely give this a try! I’m always so skeptical but the NARS and MUFE work well. For drugstore Maybelline Color Tattoos work and the L’Oreal Infallible. Other than that.. nope lol

I absolutely love the colors of that eyeshadow duo! I need that for spring/summer. I am so glad that you mentioned the similarities/ differences between the Nars Paint vs the MAC paint pot. I have never used the Nars product, but constantly use the paint pots. Now I have a better idea of what to expect! Thank you for this post!

You’re welcome! I do love MAC Paint Pots but if I had to choose it’d be the NARS every time. They just wear like iron on me. Oily lids =\

Wow, I never noticed NARS eye paint before. Have you ever used them as a cream shadow on their own? I am a cream shadow fan. And lovely look with the teal liner against bronze

How would you compare the color of the Porto Venere Paint to the color and texture of the MAC Painterfly paint pot?

I’d say the NARS has more of a pearly pink tinge to it. The texture is similar but MAC Paint Pots don’t work on me without creasing. I always use a secondary primer. The NARS will stay put on it’s own.
