2014 has ended and the Makeup Wars bloggers have been sharing a few of our favorite products from the year. We began with Favorite Foundations and Favorite Lipsticks – now we’re rounding out the trio with our Favorite Blushes and Highlighters! I could’ve made this a very easy decision and just picked the IT Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Palette which holds not only a blush and highlighter but also a bronzer – which I reach for almost daily. But then my eyes fell on the Chanel Camelia de Plumes Highlighting Powder ($72.00) and I knew this was the one.
Camelia de Plumes released with the Holiday 2014 Collection and while the intricate design was likely what drew you in the performance of the powder is what keeps you coming back for more. It may look too dense but when used with a light hand (brush, if you will) it truly makes your face look luminous and ethereal. This powder feels very light, fine and luxe. You will not look like a disco ball – the golden sheen simply makes you glow. It is/was a limited edition item and appears to be sold out. If you want to pick it up I would suggest calling your local Chanel counter and seeing if they can help you locate and order one.
If I love it so much why didn’t I review it before? Well, it sold out rather quickly and then I grabbed Chanel Spring and posted that… which just made holiday seem sort of pointless. =(
In addition to Camelia de Plumes I also picked up one Rouge Allure lipstick in Volage. Both are swatched below.
Chanel products can be purchased at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and chanel.com.

That is so striking. I usually have to avoid Chanel because of the rose scent but this would catch my eye in a minute.
