Sooo… 50 Shades of Grey. Yes, I read the books and they were awful. The casting for the movie just may be worse. I feel like both the books as well as the casting for the movie could have been so.much.better. Blah. Anyway… what makes it all okay? MAKEUP. AWESOME MAKEUP. Awesome Make Up For Ever makeup!!!
I saw the Make Up For Ever Give In To Me Makeup Kit on Sephora.com last week and, as usual, was intrigued by the packaging. Not the outer stuff, but the inner keepsake box that holds the makeup. It looked so pretty with it’s black and pink.. it’s secret compartment (which, thankfully, is not holding any of Christian Grey’s favorite toys).
Inside the exclusive keepsake box is all of the makeup you need to look so much more fabulous than Anastasia Steele:
- 4 x 0.08 Artist Shadow palette in I-514, ME-612, S-556, I-625 – 0.03 oz
- Graphic eyeliner – 0.16 oz
- Smoky Extravagant mascara – 0.12 oz
- Rouge Artist Natural lipstick in N4 – 0.09 oz
- Lab Shine lip gloss in D14
Also inside the case is a small fold-out pamphlet full of tips. This kit is inspired by Ana from Fifty Shades of Grey who transforms from innocent to sultry. Victoria Down, Head of Makeup Department for 50 Shades, said that she used MUFE every day on set. Within the pamphlet she breaks down how to get Ana’s natural look, sultry look and empowered look – complete with face charts.
As usual I’m impressed with the formula on the MUFE products, that’s really a given. It’s the same high quality you’re used to when buying their products individually. At first I was shocked (and then happy) that this was not an eye shadow quad of grey toned shadows. One of the shades is a grey but it has a violet/taupe vibe to it. The products combine to make an innocent and neutral look, but still sultry. I’m really loving how it all came together!!
Will you be picking up this kit? I have to say… I played around with the other kits yesterday in store and I am strongly considering getting the Desire Me Cheek Set and the Tease Me Lip Set in Innocent as well. If we can’t be a fan of the movie at least we can be obsessed with the makeup, right?!
The Make Up For Ever Give In To Me Makeup Kit retails for $79.00 and is available at Sephora. This item is Limited Edition.

I never read the books – the topic was not interesting to me – much better fiction around than that. The eyeshadows look great on you I have to say.
I was hoping and praying for a lovely quad or palette of grey shades – and it was yet another neutral palette. Darn!
Brooke says
Thank you! You can always design your own grey palette from the MUFE line.. the artist shadows are AMAZING!

They had me at the case but the contents are a $179 value and I’ll use everything inside – though if you’re not going to use half of the products they included it wouldn’t be worth it unless you’re a Christian Grey super-fan lol

Do you know if all those individual shadows are permanent? If not, perhaps easily dupable….the rose gold and green remind me of MAC Sable and Sumptuous Olive.

I-625 is the only one I’m not seeing on Sephora or the MUFE site, but you could definitely find similar shades.

I’m all for good book smut but the excerpts I read sent me running in the other direction. 😛 The makeup looks great, tho. Those shades are right up my alley and the look you did with them… Perfection.

Oh hurrah, another person who thought the books were awful! Good to know I’m not alone. But I *want* all that makeup! This kit looks the best of all three so far (because of the eyeshadow). And that lippie is not too bright a red. Must and will buy!

The books had me so mad! I love Nora Roberts (I call it my smut lol) but the 50 shades books just had me rolling my eyes and skipping ahead a bit. Repetitive and boring.

This set looks amazing, especially the eyeshadows. I think I might need to pick one up, although I’m not too fond of the pink ribbon with the words on it. Is that removable??
Great post though! x

It doesn’t appear to be – it’s more an attached part of the case. But if you really hate it and are crafty you could cover it up or paint over it. I’m not that handy, myself lol

I refuse to read the books on principle now bahahah! But this makeup kit looks like great shades!
