So, you’re traveling for the holidays and forgot your makeup brushes. Your expensive makeup brushes. The ones you called an “investment”. With the holidays here your budget is more intense making it impossible to buy more brushes, so how can you get your eye makeup done for the family feast? Q-tips. Did I just blow your mind?
Q-tips® Precision Tips™ are perfect for getting precise application while the Q-tips® Cotton Swabs are fantastic for covering a larger area. These are perfect subs for makeup brushes because they apply the color well and create little to no eye shadow fall-out when used. If you do experience fall out, Q-tips are also the perfect clean up tool.
Here is a holiday eye tutorial featuring one of my favorite color themes for Winter 2014 (purple!) using only Q-tips to apply the shadows and liner.
- After applying an eyeshadow primer use a rounded Q-tip Cotton Swab to apply your lid color. I took the shade all over the lid and through the crease.
- Taking another rounded Q-tip Cotton Swab apply a darker color into the crease and outer V.
- Flip the Q-tip Cotton Swab around and use the clean end to blend out your color.
- Using a Q-tip Precision Tip add a lighter shade to the inner corners of the eye. Also use this shade to blend out the crease & to highlight.
- Take a new Q-tip Precision Tip and dampen it slightly. Dip this into your darkest eye shadow shade to line the top lid. You can also use this same Q-tip to smudge out the line a bit and apply more color underneath the eye.
- With a new Q-tip Precision Tip use some makeup remover to clean up around the eye area.
- Apply your favorite mascara.
You can also use a dab of makeup remover on a Q-tip to remove any mascara oopsies that may have occurred on your beautiful eye look as you were applying.
When you forget your brushes or even if you just need a tapered tool for application and clean-up Q-tips® Precision Tips™ are the ultimate beauty tool. I love how easy it is to use the flexible stick to get the perfect line on my eye with a product that is made with 100% pure cotton and is both gentle and soft. It’s a clean and fresh application every time and easy clean up. Just use and toss (aka clean and disposable!).
In what way do you use Q-tips for your beauty needs?

Beautiful look all done with Q-Tips. 😀
I use Q-Tips for cleaning up smudges and fallout, smears or mistakes. I use the Precision Tips for cleanup when applying my brows. I use them for swatching shadows and blushes and for cleanup when doing messy nail art. And cleaning out my ears! Oh! Those little eargasms!

I moderated an in-home research project for Q-tips years ago, and we were amazed at how many women do use Q-tips for eye makeup applications as well as clean up. Such a handy little product! Love your purple eye look
