While I was picking up the palette at Sephora I fell in love with the Clinique Intense Black Honey Quickliner for Eyes Intense ($16.00). Because this is in the Clinique Black Honey Beauty Gift Set ($25.00) I snatched that up because you just can’t beat that price for four fantastic products (the Almost Lipstick, Superbalm Gloss, Nail Enamel and Quickliner) within the Black Honey family.

Clinique A Black Honey Affair consists of eight eye shadows in Sugar Cane, Hazy, Black Honey, Lucky Penny, Morning Java Quad, Purple Pumps, Lavender Out Loud and Graphite.

Clinique A Black Honey Affair Eye Shadow Palette Swatches Review

Formula wise I was impressed with the way these eye shadows applied to the eye. I used firm brushes for the lid (such as a MAC 239) and soft blending brushes for the crease and blending (such as the IT Cosmetics Blending Crease No. 105). When used over a primer (UDPP) they didn’t crease or fade and lasted the day. Below I’m wearing Hazy all over the lid, Black Honey in the crease, Morning Java Quad in the outer V, Lucky Penny at the inner corners and Sugar Cane to highlight. I also mixed a bit of Black Honey and Hazy to apply under the outer half of the lower lash line. The liner is Clinique Intense Black Honey Quickliner for Eyes Intense and the mascara is Milani Total Lash Cover and Tarte Lights Camera Lashes layered. For the bottom lashes I used Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara.

In the FOTD below I’m wearing the eye break down mentioned above as well as the Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick with the Clinique Black Honey Superbalm Gloss on top. My blush is Tarte Classic Amazonian Clay Blush and I used IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye and IT Cosmetics IT-O2 Ultra Repair Liquid Oxygen Foundation for my face. For my brows I used IT Cosmetics YBBB Brow Power Skinny Pencil in Universal Taupe.

    Hi Brooke I Just Wanted to Thank You for this Awesome Giveaway & I Hope You are Having a Lovely Day Today! This Set is Just Gorgeous and it’s Like it Was Just Made for Fall! I Have Not Used Clinique in Many Years, the Last Time I Used it is When I Worked at the Estee Lauder Make Up Counter and I Used My Discount to Buy Make Up at Clinique but that was When I Was 20 & I am Now 33 so it’s Been a While! I Have Had to Buy Most of My Make Up at Dollar General or CVS b/c I am Not Currently Working and I Have a Lot of Medical Bills from When I Was in a Motorcycle Wreck! I was Working as an Esthetician & Make Up Artist and I Absolutely Loved My Job; Making People Feel Good About Themselves Make Me Feel Good About Myself (Sorry I Didn’t Mean for that to Sound So Cheesy!) Anyways, I Fell Off the Back of the Motorcycle and I Kept Thinking My Pain Would Eventually Go Away but it Has Gotten a Lot Worse, and I Don’t Have Insurance to Top it Off!
