Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette For Eyes & Cheeks Swatches, Review + EOTD

On one of my more recent shopping trips I ran into this new little gem at Sephora – the Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette For Eyes & Cheeks. On my way out I spotted it and as I looked at the shades I couldn’t believe that I didn’t notice it before. The colors in this palette are perfect for Fall, easy for day and night looks… and that cheek color!

The outer box has that Holiday red trim and a leopard print look to it, appealing to my love of animal prints. The back breaks down the products as well as the ingredients that they contain.

The interior packaging is a deep brown sateen type cloth with black zebra print. The flap has a magnetic closure making the palette shut securely.

This palette includes a generous sized mirror on one side and eight eyeshadows and a shimmering cheek color on the other. Initially the cheek color was what caught my eye. I thought it would make the perfect holiday bronzer but it ended up being more of a rose gold highlighter on me (I’m NC20 in MAC) and tbh I prefer it on my eyes rather than my cheeks. The shadows were wonderful to work with and applied with a lot of pigment. Morning Dew was slightly chalky, so you have to watch when you’re picking that up to apply it (I wore this shade under the brow, mostly). Out of all of the Artist’s Palettes that Laura Mercier has come out with over the years, this one is definitely my favorite.

Below I did two looks using this palette – one for day and one for night. You can obviously mix and match the sides but I stuck to keeping the left side for night and the right side for day. Let me know in the commends how you’d wear these shades!

Day Look: After applying my eye primer (I used UDPP) I placed Crystal Beige all over the lid and through the crease, Topaz at the top of the crease and blended up, Cashmere at the inner corners and above Topaz, then Morning Dew to highlight. The eye liner is Smashbox Violetta Always Sharp 3D Waterproof Kohl Liner with Crystal Beige pressed over-top and also smudged under the lower lash line. The mascara is Milani Total Lash Cover.

Night Look: After applying my eye primer (I used UDPP) I placed Pewter all over the lid, Stone Taupe in the crease, Deep Night in the outer V and blended up into the outer part of the crease and Vanilla Nuts at the inner corners and up to highlight. For the eye liner I realized too late that my latest NARS Atlantic Le Stylo had been thrown out and needed replaced so I dug up the Le Metier de Beaute Artemis Liquid Eyeliner (which, I found, also needed pitched) and then pressed over it (because it needed fixed) with the Deep Night eye shadow from the palette. On my lower waterline I used Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil and smudged a bit of Pewter eye shadow underneath. The mascara is Milani Total Lash Cover. I’m also wearing false eye lashes from Ardell in 110.

This is the Rose Gold Shimmer in action. I used it along with IT Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Ombre Blush. It gave a nice, luminous sheen to the cheeks but I do wish it would have been less of a highlighting type of products and more of a bronzing blush.

The Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette For Eyes & Cheeks retails for $58.00 and is available for a limited time at Sephora.

This is in my Sephora cart. I do wish though, that she would put some different shades in her palettes–morning dew & topaz are in almost every one.

This is the type of palette I would take traveling as it could be used for smokey and/or neutral looks.

You look beautiful in Laura Mercier! I love the artist palette sets- they are a great value and LM eyeshadows are so easy to blend and cushiony textured. Now that my eyes are mature skin lids, I rely on my arsenal of creams, serums, and Laura Mercier eyeshadows. But they are easy to wear for any age.

I was sad to toss mine, I didn’t realize just how old it was until I looked at the post =( That explains why it was bad, though lol
